The USA are the anti-intellectualism gift that never stops giving. Earth is flat, global warming is fake, vaccination is bad, evolution is fake and unironically using the imperial system.

- A LLM is roleplaying as a pregnant minister.
- A woman is “AI” minister and she’s pregnant, theres a typo and the government is publicly admitting corruption through nepotism.
- Comment on I just spent my entire rent money on vintage 240p JPEG files of soup, and I've never been happier. AMA. 1 day ago:
I have an idea. I’ll get one of my mates in on this. And so, this is how the three of us will do it. Now that you have the collection of Soup JPEGs, you can then transfer those to me on credit. So now I am indebted to you by whatever amount you wish. Then, my mate and I agree that he will invest into soup JPEG infrastructure. Hard drives, tapes, etc. it doesn’t matter. But I don’t have any money because I’m severely indebted to someone else. So we just agreed to pay with my soup jpegs. Now he has the Soup JPEGs and I have all of this massive infrastructure for all of the incoming market value and influx of demand for Soup JPEGs. Then just make up some nonsense to complete the circle in which you have the JPEGs and you are now indebted to him. Now since we have all created intense business dealings for the soup jpeg market we can now go to someone with real money and show them that there is this massive demand it’s just an upcoming market we have all of this infrastructure which we’re going to use and look at all of the people already in on this. Now’s your chance. Now, as soon as we get the investments into our Soup jpg business, we’ll just take the real money and bugger off to the countryside of Kenya and live off of our embezzled investor money. And the middle class, who were advertised to spend their money on this, by the investors, will pay the price. The three of us win, the investors win, and the middle class loses. Just like it should be.

Tangent
Why aren’t Normies speaking up about everything needing internet? Street navigation, music, videos, reading, games, etc. Are all things that would work brilliantly normally, no server required. Why does no one realise, that if the server disappears, so does in effect their personal property? If it is tethered to a server, it’s broken, because the server will disappear, the question is only when.

By now I’m so jaded with modern video games that I expect it to be a barely functional reset release and fall into the same old pattern of over-promise and under-deliver. People who think it will be as good as GTA 5 after more than 12 years of updates are deluding themselves. I stopped playing GTA 5 online when they introduced microtransactions, the instant you could buy money in the game with real money, I dropped it harder than Donald Trump was dropped on the head as a baby.

This is a tangent but, I find it baffling that Americans are one of the most tolerant democracies of abuses of power against common citizens and corruption. Their country was founded precisely to stop both. Their constitution was almost utopian for the time, writing about the irrefutable rights a human has. And look at it now, capitalism and oligarchs have trashed their country. They lack even basic infrastructure such as health care, transportation a functional education system, etc. All for the benefit of rich people who can bypass the broken country by buying normal services and amenities, while less fortunate people are left to fend for themselves. It is a broken country because only nobility can afford human-worthy living standards there. The nobility and oligarchy in the USA are so very effectively blocking the country from having infrastructure that every other civilised country on planet earth has had for decades or even centuries. How the american middle class could let this happen is baffling.
- Comment on Why would I buy this? 5 days ago:
Thanks to modern video games being barely functional slop most of the time, I got into emulation. All these games work beautifully and I have a massive catalogue of high quality games, with creative contents that would not get made anymore today.

I think that it’s still vulnerable to the explore expand exterminate model. Look at what Facebook threads is doing, same thing. They are slowly but surely infesting the fediverse like a cancer that grows, eventually killing the host by sucking its vital resources away.
- Comment on Yes, yeeeees, YEEEEEEEES 1 week ago:
IMO if Lemmy or any other fediverse programme became mainstream, it would become as rubbish as mainstream anti-social media. Corporations and bots would take over and bring all their putrid online-behaviours with them. I am happy to have found a community of sane, normal people. Not ragebaiting, not botting, not constantly advertising their Dropship trash from Alibaba, not screaming constantly into a camera because that’s what kids like, but rather being actually social on social media. I am happy about lemmy and the fediverse and I want it to stay an insider’s tip.

Did you ever watch Babylon 5? There is a scene where the “ministry of peace” introduces the “Nightwatch”, if not, you should watch it. This scene and Hegseth announcing to generals that it’s now called “ministry of war”, have the same vibe. Unsurprisingly, the “Nightwatch” was a stand in for the SS. So there’s the “you are here” marker for the USA’s road to national socialism. Remember, Nazis Germany too, started with deportations. The Endlösung was invented, because it was too expensive to deport the undesirables en masse.

- Comment on Jesus hates American "Christians" 1 week ago:
I’m European. My mother tried to get me into Christianity. When I was 7 or 8 I asked “If God created everything, then who created God?” I got no answer, ever since that moment, I didn’t want to be religious. My mother tried until I was 14. It failed.
Also, I find american Christians weird. They twist and contort Christianity into something to suit their ideological needs, racism, homophobia, capitalism, nationalism, unilateralism, etc.
