Its not won’t somebody think of the children… Its get this shit out of their face. Block it. Thats the beauty of the fediverse.
The initial point was that younger generations feed off engagements. You block the conversation and it doesn’t exist. Its not a matter of closing your eyes to the world. Its closing the gates to the exact statement I made. Does no one understand how the younger generation get the information? Engagement. Was the answer. Failure to allow a platform will stop the spread of the misinformation in the first place.
‘Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference’.

Does no one here understand the younger generations access to ideas? I think the idea that every one claims of creating echo chambers is not an effective one. The law of diminishing returns (as a business term) states that all else held equal an increase in production( or the free debate or posting of opinions) will not produce more profit after a certain point ( or the changing of others opinions) . When it comes to people posting and espousing for state sponsored genocide I think we have hit the top of that curve. If you stop the flow of that information you are not creating echo chambers but more effectively stopping the spread of bullshit and hate. They have Xhitter. Fucking ban this genocidal shit every chance you get, either foundationally or personally. I dont get a whiff of this on shitjust works because I dont engage with it.

- Comment on Built a partition to separate two rooms 4 weeks ago:
Its a doorframe made of thin pine boards. Nothing to do with the load. And there is not a single complete board surrounding it. Looks good but a lot of finish work over that questionable frame. so ya know next time.
- Comment on Built a partition to separate two rooms 4 weeks ago:
No king studs? No jack studs? What is this Revolutionary framing? But looks good for now. As long as atmosphere is consistent down there should hold. Let us know next season how bad the jamb warped.

Yah I suppose its just as preposterous that we have multiple trillion dollar valuations for any fucking single entity. Thank god they are defined as a person under Citizens United and can contribute to the democratic process. /s
- Comment on Beer tastes somewhat like piss because it's processed through fish bladders. 2 months ago:
I once had an old timer in an Ireland pub tell me ‘the Guinness isn’t as good as it used be since they stopped using the fish guts.’ I can now imagine he was referencing this process? I wonder if Guinness stopped using this step as a cost reduction? Or maybe they still use it and he was just an old timer in an Irish pub. He probably doesn’t like people fact checking him on the internet so I’ll just let him have this one.

You would have been prime working age for 2008 financial collapse. Though not an economic depression it hit peoples retirements and work prospects like a hammer. And then what happened? If you stuck it out and didn’t paper hands you would be extremely well off now.
- Comment on I'm stupid...how do I avoid wires when mounting things to the wall? 5 months ago:
JFC has any one in this thread ever run a wire? While your over focused on sensors locating wires it skips the common sense of actually installing a wire. Just locate the studs and mount the shit. If you hit a wire you die. Try again.
- Comment on House settling- how to repair sump drain? 5 months ago:
You got the right idea. Just push that to the side and push the 1.5 side up the smaller pipe then slide it back down over the four inch. It’ll move. If its truly unable to swing side to side you may need an additional 1.5 Fernco cplg. cut the pipe a foot above. Slip the ferncos over everything as described above and put it in place and slide everything back over the existing pipes. You may want to mark the half the length of the slip cplg so you get it even on both sides.

- Comment on Is there anything I can do to decrease the gap in my blinds? 6 months ago:
Definnetly get those mounts butt up against each other. Depending on what hardware is up in the blind track ( and it looks like the where set right with the adjusters to the outside ) you may be able to take a hack saw and trim the track just slightly like even a 1/16th off each end will end up getting that gap don’t an 1/8. Etc etc. Or you may be able to find a center style track for a long single blind set up. And get the two ends in there instead of two end caps. It seems excessive BC there will always be some small gap.

- Comment on YSK that apart from not having a car, the single greatest thing you can do for the climate is simply eating less red meat 7 months ago:
This is a poor argument which will be repeated through out this thread because it doesn’t take into account the product… Meat consumption can not be ‘cleaned up’ or ‘held accountable’ unless you are growing or purchasing meat from a direct source. You can change your habit in that sense. But when you purchase a fast food meal or even a Sysco steak at a fine dinning establishment you are supporting the established CAFOs that make the statistics in the post. Not corporate greed.
- Comment on YSK that apart from not having a car, the single greatest thing you can do for the climate is simply eating less red meat 7 months ago:
Hence the bumper sticker that has been around since the 70s
REAL ENVIRONMENTALIST DONT EAT MEAT
Homesteaders and locally grown meat is a necessary way of life for those living in the country. CAFOs and suburban grillers can burn in hell.

Media is essential in getting that distinction out to the laypeople, but they’ve largely failed.
They haven’t failed anything. Their billionaire owners purposely misconstrue the truth to manufacture the exact opposite intentions. Creating said “high support”
