Its so wacky out there. When I read something like this I’m sure its The Onion. And its not. Then I read a headline about US politics and its totally believable , alas its The Onion.

- Comment on Is there anything I can do to decrease the gap in my blinds? 1 day ago:
Definnetly get those mounts butt up against each other. Depending on what hardware is up in the blind track ( and it looks like the where set right with the adjusters to the outside ) you may be able to take a hack saw and trim the track just slightly like even a 1/16th off each end will end up getting that gap don’t an 1/8. Etc etc. Or you may be able to find a center style track for a long single blind set up. And get the two ends in there instead of two end caps. It seems excessive BC there will always be some small gap.

I have only one renovation rule, If you use it everyday. Spend the money.
- Comment on YSK that apart from not having a car, the single greatest thing you can do for the climate is simply eating less red meat 4 weeks ago:
This is a poor argument which will be repeated through out this thread because it doesn’t take into account the product… Meat consumption can not be ‘cleaned up’ or ‘held accountable’ unless you are growing or purchasing meat from a direct source. You can change your habit in that sense. But when you purchase a fast food meal or even a Sysco steak at a fine dinning establishment you are supporting the established CAFOs that make the statistics in the post. Not corporate greed.

Hence the bumper sticker that has been around since the 70s
REAL ENVIRONMENTALIST DONT EAT MEAT
Homesteaders and locally grown meat is a necessary way of life for those living in the country. CAFOs and suburban grillers can burn in hell.
- Comment on Brazing Copper Plumbing Pipe? 5 weeks ago:
I’m sorry but if you can braze you can solder. Just use propane. And wipe your flux before you heat. This just seems silly to me.
- Comment on Can someone please tell me what the hell this is? 5 weeks ago:
I’m going with just the edit on this one… If they cit into sewer lines there is no way your not gonna notice. Not just sewer gases escaping but you would be infested with sewer flies. Put your ear to it and flush a toilet. That should confirm.

Media is essential in getting that distinction out to the laypeople, but they’ve largely failed.
They haven’t failed anything. Their billionaire owners purposely misconstrue the truth to manufacture the exact opposite intentions. Creating said “high support”
- Comment on Connect Mini Split to Air Circulator system? 2 months ago:
The only quick fix here is getting a good floor fan and put it at the top of the stairs. If i understand correctly using a fan for circulating air should be done by pulling the air (ie setting it at the top of the stairs) rather than close to the mini split and blowing the air where you want it.
- Comment on Connect Mini Split to Air Circulator system? 2 months ago:
No. The split unit won’t have any way to move the air through the duct or attach to the duct. And the duct is undoubtedly not designed for cold air to be moving through hot spaces which will cause condensation on the duct/ and mold in the spaces where it is run.
- Comment on The USA spends $15k/student annually which is 30% higher than the global median. Why do U.S. schools have "fundraisers" where kids are incentivized to sell stuff to people? 2 months ago:
The question might not be stupid. But that stat calculation sounds questionable. Do you have a source? Does that include social spending like the dedication of parents time and personal expenses such as in South Korea? Is that government spending? At fundraisers only a USA thing?

I’m new to this but my app store uses exodus to rate privacy of apps. It rates this app at 6/10. You all trust or use exodus? Wouldnt use this app anyway as I agree it should be open sourced. Especially using camera to scan items.

To be honest I think you all missed a great crack by the moderator being representative of an authority just banning the question as an answer in itself.

I’d buy that book. And perhaps J. Krishnamurti has been resurrected.
