Same, if they made a wallet for cards then I’d actually use my phone to pay for stuff

Fantastic, wish they prioritised stuff like this instead of AI but at least it’s here now. Now please make a dedicated contacts app so I can stop using Google contacts too!

Fair enough, I would also prefer if they pushed out an online excel/power point alternative before this or or allowed for more cloud storage.
That being said, I also don’t think this is a bad thing to do. It seems to work alright so if they can at least be at that level then that’s fantastic. I do wish they pooled their resources with other open source AI models cause that would be more efficient but maybe they have a good reason. I’ve just not looked into it cause I don’t use AI that often

Never do what exactly? Continue to be private?
- Comment on Proton freezes Swiss investment over surveillance fears 1 week ago:
Imo, having Proton just copy Google but actually be private is exactly what I want. Of course, if they stray away from privacy then there will be issues. I also feel like they are making good stuff. As a subscriber myself I don’t have many issues with their offering other than the stuff they don’t provide but Google does.

I’m a bit more hopeful that this situation might finally open people eyes to this scumbag. For me, it seems he’s dug his own grave since he hyped up that he would release this document and it’s importance so hard that everyone expected him to release it. Of course, when he u-turned so hard that he claimed it didn’t exist his base does seem to have realised this hypocrisy. I’m hopeful that once it is released and people see his name in it (at least I assume his name is in it, why else would he not release it?) then maybe he will get a big backlash.
That said, I also think there is a 50% chance that once the list gets released people may just shrug and move on. Like you said, there is other evidence they were best mates but since that came out through the courts his supporters don’t believe it to be true/damning enough. I’m sure there will be plenty of names he can shout from the rooftops to distract people. Maybe he even drops more tariffs to add to the distraction. Maybe fox news happens to not mention if he is in the list and people don’t bother to look at any other source.

True, my doctor suggested this but sometimes I like to switch it up to surprise my partner.

I don’t understand half the stuff they say but sounds like they’ve managed to sort one problem. Now just need to get the fusion process itself to be viable and then maybe anll our energy needs will be sorted?

Half-life 3 launch trailer! /s
Jk, in reality I’d love to see more about the new bond game. Was hoping they’d show more after they showed off the first trailer.

Given the number of windows machines that exist, isn’t it already an addiction?

- Comment on French President Emmanuel Macron announces €100 billion investments in AI 5 months ago:
The EU just doesn’t have any companies that can put together something that can compete. CPUs and GPUs have been around for a while and the technical knowledge and patents these companies have gathered is basically insurmountable.
Graphcore is a startup in the UK that has been trying to get into the ai processor market for a few years but even though they got a load of money their chips have not been competitive (if they were able to get any out the door).
Arm could feasibly do it (given they already make the CPU/GPU designs) but their business model is selling the base designs to other companies. If they started to make their own chips then those that buy from ARM (Qualcomm, mediatech…) might look to developing their own risk-V chips
Imo, I think the EU should try and make a company similar in style to what happened with Airbus. Combine a bunch of companies together across the union, give them money and contracts and let them cook. Seems to me the only way to enter this kind of market.

Deepseak did show it could be done cheaply but imagine if you could take their optimisations and throw more power behind it (ie: buy a fuck tone of GPUs that the Chinese dont officially have access to)
Could work, the EU should pursue AI independence else it will continue its slide into irrelevance. Glad France is stepping up to the plate on this
