- Comment on A Brutal message to Americans who are whining about Chinese dominance in electric cars, claiming it's ''unfair'' 1 week ago:
It’s been years that I’ve been saying that europe and america fucked up big time with EVs. I am a middle class person who wants to buy an electric car. What are my alternatives? Either a +40k € car from the traditional brands that offers me the bare minimum in battery capacity or a BYD that costs under 30k offering me something acceptable. Now, why should I not pick up byd? Because it’s chinese? Well, don’t want me to buy chinese? Then fucking make a car people can afford?
In europe, for an electric car of a non chinese brand it’s either 40k for the bare minimum, or +60k for the luxury segment that I can’t afford anyway.

So pussies.
- Comment on It's kinda crazy that we willingly give money to companies in advance (say for gift vouchers and pre-orders) 2 weeks ago:
It is crazy. Reason why I never do it. I can’t find a single good reason to use gift cards instead of money.
And for digital game preorders? That’s even dumber. The, publisher is not going to run out of bits, if you purchase after the launch, your digital game will be delivered all the same. But I guess corporate shills need to feel that they are helping the poor multi million corpo…

Fun fact: cucumbers and watermelons are actually part of the same family: the cucurbitaceae.
- Comment on Former SIEA President Says Players Will Pay $80 For Switch 2 Games 4 weeks ago:
Lucky you it’s only $80. In Europe they are going for 90€, so I guess we’re passing the 100€ barrier on any game with dlc.
And people will pay. These are the fanatics that can’t live without a mario game.
- Comment on US | Pressed for evidence against Mahmoud Khalil, government cites its power to deport people for beliefs 4 weeks ago:
Now listen, there are offences and offences. I’m fine if you like a different sports, team, but pineapple on pizza? There are things one can’t forgive.

- Comment on Egg prices increase to record high despite Trump's predictions and bird flu outbreak slowing 5 weeks ago:
That’s oligopoly for you, mates. The only reason behind prices is greed. And more than half of magastan either voted for this or enabled it by not voting at all. So enjoy it, I guess.
P.s: Sorry, I don’t have any more fucks to give, I’m tired of being screwed by the magastanian asshole even though he’s not my president and I couldn’t even vote in the elections of that country.
- Comment on He thinks they'll just GIVE him money? 2 months ago:
This.
He probably knows (PROBABLY) that the numbers don’t add up. But he also knows that magats are not the smartest creatures, so they will believe anything their dear leader says, even if it’s a plain lie.
- Comment on Recommend me a steam deck game 2 months ago:
If you want a big open world game, I can recommend Mad Max, you can find it in fanatical (a legal and trusted store) for $2.49. I had a lot of fun with it and it will give you tons of hours of fun.
www.fanatical.com/en/game/mad-max
I actually recommend you that site for steam keys since they often do bundles very cheap to help your library grow without spending a fortune.

Apparently we’re not oppressing them enough.
- Comment on Shovel Knight artist says throwback games need 'retro authenticity' but can't coast on nostalgia alone: 'Part of the appeal of the NES era of game making was that everything was a new idea' 2 months ago:
That’s the problem with many modern AAA games. They lack innovation. Since they only look to maximize profits, they stick to reliable formulas that are known to be profitable.
This is the reason why I only play indies nowadays. How many AAA studios have new ideas? Sure, we see, every now and then, a new game that really feels new, but they are rare. Meanwhile, the indie sphere cooks new things constantly. Sure, not all are pretty or good or polished, but at least they try new things!

You can’t expect them to be coherent or logical or anything; they voted for trump.
- Comment on Looking for a free speech Lemmy instance 2 months ago:
No, that xkcd is relevant because that’s exactly what free speech means. Your government won’t arrest you for saying stuff, but for the same reason you are free to speak, we are free to act within law against you.
And there is no law forbiding people from boycotting or unhosting or simply not listening to what you say.
You are free to speak, we are free to listen.
- Comment on Looking for a free speech Lemmy instance 2 months ago:
So you are a racist. Got it.
- Comment on Looking for a free speech Lemmy instance 2 months ago:
You are not going to find “free speech” instances federated with everyone, because what you are looking for is an instance allowing bigotry and racism, things that most of lemmy don’t like.

Anyone still thiking those assholes are “free speech warriors” is an idiot who deserves whatever happens to them.

A bit like Japan.
Their technology might be more advanced than ours, but their society is stuck in the middle age.
- Comment on 41% of companies worldwide plan to reduce workforces by 2030 due to AI 3 months ago:
I was talking today about this with a couple of colleagues.
In my field (industrial programming) there’s a real fear that we’re going to be substituted by AI. And… I think it’s probably going to happen. And it’s going to be reaaaaaally fun: because things will go like this:
one day, my boss will realize that chatgpt can make a program for a machine in 10 minutes instead of 2 weeks. And with zero knowledge about programming, he will fire me.
Then, chatgpt will create his next software for a machine, and he will start making money like crazy because he cut the costs to a fraction and reduced shipping times to almost zero.
And things will go nicely. But one day, the machine that works under the software chatgpt made, will injure or worse, kill a person. And my boss will then learn the hard way that chatgpt can’t be held responsible for that death and him, being the only one left, will be charged for that death.
Soon after that, he will start looking for new positions again, either as “software advisors” who check the code before it’s shipped so he can discharge the responsibility on them, or as programmers to do what they were doing some months ago, but this time, for more money, given the precedents.
