Have you looked up your remote to check if the power on and power off codes are the same? I would think that they would be, but if it only works one way then it may very well be different. Could also use a little IR receiver and an arduino to check it for yourself

Yellow blouse is Sadayo Kawakami who is a teacher at the high school that the main character goes to. You can choose to date her, which has some not great implications, thus the groomer thing.
