This should maybe have been listed on moeilijklastig.nl/verloopjes/
- Comment on In the future, it will be considered unbelievable that repairing a product used to be more expensive than buying a new one 1 week ago:
I have opened and tried to fix all my things. Including multiple cheap mouses. Although I have not always been successful, I mostly see it as an experience, and as a learning moment. It’s broken anyway, so it could only get better. Quite often I’m able to improve on it too! (add USB C charging to a mouse)
- Comment on So how would you handle this? 1 week ago:
Maybe if you just connect one side of the life wire to it. And ground the other one. That could work better

A theory, it’s you life somewhere warm you want white light. If you life somewhere cold you want warm orange light

The only reason I have Unifi around. They support local-only. But totally worth if to have your faith in your own hands. I would never have gone with a cloud solution like Ring

I bough a second hand laptop with windows 11 and it had Copilot pushing down your throat.
It’s now running Fedora just fine. And if I want I can spin up a local AI when I decide that I need it.

I was just wondering, and would like to read more. But I don’t want to support the AI and META platform

Source? Only thing in elvish I can find is META user reporting of the same thing. And in Dutch I only found sources that they have done a few like a year ago?

To be fair, if you don’t have the files. This is an easy way to make a prototype and fit it, and then if it fits you can order it in metal. This is a cheaper proces in iternating in metal from the start
- Comment on What do drug dealers (or other criminals) do with dirty money when government replaces banknotes with new 1 month ago:
Counter question to answer it,
What would they do with my hard earned money that’s I my drawer when government replaces banknotes with new ones.
Its a process that slowly removes money from circulation. It’s like swapping the water of a fish pond. You take some out, you add some back
- Comment on How cold is too cold for storing in a garage? 1 month ago:
Only watch out for condensation, temperature should be fine for well below 0C.
Also the act of printing in such space does not like it to be too cold. Your quality would start to fail. But I have successfully printed at 5C before and your ymnot trying to print there (yet… ) Another note is that your bed/nozzle temps are expected to be withing limits, mine can’t be below 0 to start printing.

- Comment on YSK How to cook a perfect (hard) boiled egg 2 months ago:
As a site note. For 550s (8-9min) and 1 Liter of water needing around 330.000 J to boil. Your using an 650W device to heat the water?
- Comment on YSK How to cook a perfect (hard) boiled egg 2 months ago:
This is a slow coop top, for us it takes below 2 minutes to heat a liter of water to boil the eggs in. Also we just use a fake plastic egg that shows you until where the egg is raw. Which works quire wonderfull no matter how you start boiling an egg

Wasn’t it already proven to be an ad-blocker update? I though thet blocked the url that counts the views. So no views are counted

I know natively you can only pin an app (puts app on lock screen basically), but never looked if apps have this feature
- Comment on Why can't countries with vast deserts make solar farms to power the world? 4 months ago:
Some reasons to be discouraged making a solar farm in a desert:
- Middle of nowhere, you need to transport all the hardware to the place
- Maintanace, you need people on-site to support it
- Desert sand is sandbladting your panels
- (and this is the biggest one I think). You need to transport the power from where its generated to where is requested. Which is an imperfect proces, and every time you double the distance you also double the resistance

- Comment on Looking to get my first 3d printer, any suggestions? 4 months ago:
Ender 3 is great for a project printer. You will update it over time and learn all the ways that a printer can have problems. But at least you are able to fix it yourself, and there is a huge online user base who can guide you with issues.
If you want an 95% works, and 5% hobby/tinkering printer for an extremely low budget. It’s the only one I recommend
