Not necessarily, but why choose a project that needs interfacing with an existing ecosystem where it can mostly only be noise?
If you want to deal with a complicated mess of a system as a project, you could always grab Arch

“Yes, you need RAM valued at roughly a Saudi prince and a half to run all the LLM slop”
- Comment on What are ways everyday people can fight against AI use? 1 week ago:
Not much, it’s a fad scam hyped up by most of the concentrated capital power in the world, and the 99.9whatever% people without the tech background in this see the bullshitting as “convincingly human”. They’re primed to take most or all criticism as you being a Luddite, which means they don’t have to listen to you - hallucination, bias, titanic wastes of water/power/hardware are all excellent points among many, just… not ones that anybody’s ever gonna listen to. Every hype cycle you get this to one degree or another.
About the only thing you can do is presumably what you’re already doing: avoid it as best you can personally. Try to keep a lease on the ol’ sanity, it does seem like part of the worst hype might be calming down a bit.
