- Comment on Newly purchased Vizio TVs now require Walmart accounts to use smart features 1 week ago:
I do this, run a regular linux desktop right on my TV, idles at like 10 watts. Only do it though if you plan to go full pirate.
- Comment on 1 week ago:
Thanks. I have trust issues so I don’t typically install software directly off someones github. I know flatpak/flathub isnt perfect but if its a verified flatpak then I at least know someone smarter than me at least reviewed the project and additionally, I know I can restrict the applications permissions with flatseal.
- Comment on Linkwarden v2.14 - open-source collaborative bookmark manager to collect, read, annotate, and fully preserve what matters (tons of new features!) 🚀 1 week ago:
I agree, I tried it but it just felt pointless after awhile, the bookmark manager in the browser is a lot more convenient, and I dont tend to want to archive bookmarks long term. Shut it off after a few weeks. Great work by the devs though.
- Comment on 1 week ago:
Any plans for a flatpak by chance?
- Comment on PlayStation Store Dynamic Pricing Is Real 1 week ago:
I mean it won’t work this way I’m sure, but if they were smart, their algorithm would figure out that you never pay more than $10 for a game and offer it to you for that.
- Comment on Which government he might be talking about 🤔 1 week ago:
Th government is using health care to force people to continue working. They know they can fund it. They also know if healthcare becomes free in the US, there are lots of people who can just stop working. If they made healthcare free I’d likely be able to stop working by age 45

- Comment on US shifting from precision munitions to 2,000-pound bombs in Iran war, Hegseth says 4 weeks ago:
I might not mean they are running out, it probably means they’ve obtained air superiority so they are switching to cheaper munitions that slow bombers can carry.
- Comment on Motorola confirms GrapheneOS support for a future phone, bringing over features 4 weeks ago:
Looks like my next phone is going to be a Motorola. Having been on Graphene for 2 years now, I can’t go back. My wife is still on stock and its cringe for me now.

They do the same thing with beer, calling us ignorant and then saying or beer is shit in reference to Bud Light. America has tons of great beer and cheese.

What do i say to my friends to get them to leave? Ive already tried and they won’t.
Sadly this change won’t really affect them so they are not going to care. I’ve wanted to leave for a long time now.

- Comment on Lawsuit Alleges That WhatsApp Has No End-to-End Encryption 2 months ago:
No. Signal encrypts every message on the device itself before sending to Signal servers. You can even confirm this yourself by looking at their github.
Whats app claims they do this but its impossible to confirm. Its extrenemly likely that either they dont encrypt at all or they have the decryption keys.
- Comment on Meta is closing down three VR studios as part of its metaverse cuts 2 months ago:
Always. Buying hardware from Facebook just feels gross to a lot of people, even those that dont even really care about privacy.

- Comment on YSK that when you’re asked to make a donation at check-out, the company does not get a tax break for it! 3 months ago:
Your post isnt wrong, but you just have to keep in mind that for the huge majority of people in the US, keeping receipts of small donations is pointless, becuaee they will never exceeded the standard deduction, which ever filer gets. As an example, the 2025 standard deduction for single filers in 2025 is 15,750.
So unless all your deductions and other deductions exceed that amount, you should be taking the standard deduction anyways, and all the receipts count for nothing, and are a waste of time to enter.
- Comment on YSK that when you’re asked to make a donation at check-out, the company does not get a tax break for it! 3 months ago:
Its not going to be worth the effort for the huge majority of people unless you donate a lot of money because of the standard deduction. Its a stupid system but it is what it is.

Are you in the US? Healthcare nukes that plan. If you skip buying healthcare then one single event can bankrupt you.

If its a decent price I’ll want it. I love the freedom PC gaming allows but sometimes I do miss the convenience of a console. It would be great for my kid as well. No fidling with the display, having the PC not wake properly from sleep, controllers not connecting, etc. It would just work. Our current setup inevitably something doesnt work right first try.
- Comment on Amazon is cracking down on illegal streaming on its Fire TV Stick 4 months ago:
Looks like I left Fire Sticks just in time. They say they are going to block apps that allow piracy. So are they going to block their own shitty web browser?
