An AI is as good as its sources, and skimming through the domains from the posts, quite a few of those don’t seem like very reliable ones.

Doesn’t help the wheel doesn’t seem to take inputs until the player first jumps on it to get it moving. "<.<
Also, I didn’t get to test it, but with how much the player can actually move the wheel, I wouldn’t find far fetched to think the player can get crushed by the ceiling too.

Alternatively, it could be a way to kill what people look up to by fatigue through fatigue and disappointment through less than ideal re-imaginings.

- Comment on Video game libraries lose legal appeal to emulate physical game collections online 2 months ago:
Short version I wrote for another news piece but that, to my understanding, should apply for this too:
The text is obtuse and the article’s title and cover are pretty clickbaity, so here’s a tl;dr: In the US, according to the article, it’s possible to lend multiple forms of digital medias and software as you’d do with physical medias. But when requested to extend this understanding to games too, the US Copyright Office denied the change.

Finished it! Found it to be much better than the first game indeed. ^_^

I’m playing the PC version of SMCP, and the only difference I can notice, maybe due to the better hardware, is that the game seems to be a bit faster on PC than on PS2. And have yet to test any of the other collections Sega made for/with the Sonic games.

Dunno how much you played of the franchise, but if you got stuck early on (e.g. the dreaded Marble Zone in the punishing first game), maybe you could abuse save states? The franchise got several emulated releases, and I imagine it’s not uncommon for them to allow such a function natively. And at least to me, Sonic 2 plays much better and I remember kid me finding Sonic 3 even sharper.

Blocking, yeah.

Putting the tone aside, I usually browse the All tab for that reason, and also because subscribing in Lemmy is weirder than it was on Kbin (even if it doesn’t crash the page like Kbin did). Nothing personal against the communities, and sure, it’s an exercise on patience, but after some time, the results become noticeable as my feed gets fine-tuned into what I want to see.

I think that, if you have the resources to support that niche, which the savings from cheap offers hopefully allowed for, and you want to see it grow, it’s worth paying more.

Here’s a screenshot I took of a FFX blitzball game some years back (metadata says it was back in 2016).

It has native screenshot functions, yes, but they are highly compressed. Iirc, there’s a tool for taking uncompressed screenshots, but given the watermark in the screenshot, it’s most likely the native function.

Also a few more since the emulators list is split in a weird way and I missed them:
- For MSX: 真・魔王ゴルベリアス 先取り横スクロール面
- For PICO-8: #hasicontent, Celeste Classic 1 and 2, Slipways Classic, Dusk Child

Dunno what systems are made for the device, but checking a list of included emulators in a so called “Onion” operating system, I see a few other devices being listed, so if you don’t mind, here are some more:
- For arcade: the other Metal Slug games up to 4 (have yet to play further), The King of Fighters 2002
- For MS-DOS: MegaRace
- For PC-98: コテ・DE・メクール
- For NES: Böbl, Micro Mages, Nix: The Paradox Relic
- For Genesis/Mega Drive: Wonder Boy in Monster World, Tanglewood
- For NDS: Shantae: Risky’s Revenge
Avoided all plot-heavy titles, even when they may have long sections low on plot.

Maybe Celeste Classic? Apparently someone made a homebrew port of it to the GBA.
There’s also Final Fantasy VI, which can be played kinda with the brain “on automatic” on quite a few sections as well as having overall plenty of places to save.
And since you’ll be emulating them, if your device has save states features, Shantae for the GBC could be a good pick too. It is harder and less save-friendly than FFVI, but with save states, it should be better as a pick and play title.
And although focused on speedrunning, the impression I got from the homebrew Augury Red Code is that it is also nice if playing without having to focus too much on it.
Metal Slug 1 and X, and also Gunbird, all 3 released in the PS1, also benefit from save states to be more “pick and play”.

Dreaming Sarah, Wishing Sarah, Tanglewood, Parasite Eve, Wake Up (by Philosophic Games), UNLOVED, The Corruption Within, - Comment on Blocking all posts that link to specific sites? 4 months ago:
Just remembered Ublock Origin filters also work nice with fediverse sites, although I would prefer to completely purge posts with links I avoid.
But for those curious, here’s an example filter I just cooked:
lemm.ee##a[class=“fst-italic link-dark link-opacity-75 link-opacity-100-hover”]:has-text(here_goes_the_domain_as_displayed_under_the_post_title):upward(div[class=“post-listing mt-2”])
So as an hypothetical example, if for some reason I have a problem with the
sh.itjust.works
instance, I could make this:lemm.ee##a[class=“fst-italic link-dark link-opacity-75 link-opacity-100-hover”]:has-text(sh.itjust.works):upward(div[class=“post-listing mt-2”])
And it ends up looking like the attached image.

Unfamiliar with it, but in the regard of instances going down, if you find any interesting posts even on instances seemingly stable, I think it is a good idea to back up those pages. Personally, I would propose methods like Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine and its alternatives like Archive Today, the print to PDF option from browsers, and/or saving a given page as a MHTML bundle.
