Yes you can use the autoscale mod to make content soloable but you might want to tweak the settings to get it to a difficulty level you like. Some raid bosses have some game mechanics that make soloing difficult though
You should look into the gm commands to see what you can manipulate and also the server configs have a lot of things you can tweak that could make the game more enjoyable for you

I run one on a 8 gb debian server from hetzner and it seems rock solid so far from what i can tell with the amount of traffic i am likely to have (just friends get an account)

I am also running my own instance of azerothcraft on a vps so that i can play with some friends. Love it so far but summertime means there is not too much activity yet. Im running with autoscale mod and it is quite fun to run some of the lower lvl instances at lvl 60 and it is actually a challenge (yes i capped the level at 60 because that is what i know)
Anything in particular you like to do with your awesome gm powers? (moonfire spam wins)

Never tried it but recetly picked it up for free from epic store so will give it a try this summer!

I picked up mirrors edge again after some weeks without playing it and i cleared a level yesterday. Was going to do a session now as well, but now my save had been wiped. Probably related to me struggling to figure out lutris and heroic and messing around abit yesterday evening. It a little of a bummer but at the same time i found the game a little too frustrating - a good idea not executed well enough to be a truly enjoyable experience in my opinion.
I am abit indecesive at the moment. I fired up both tales of symphonia on gamecube and final fantasy 7 on ps1 yesterday, kinda want to start another jrpg but at the same time not quite where i want to commit myself to a long game. Also installing fallout 3 now so hm…
I fired up theme hospital for some fun this week as well though, that was a welcome nostalgia trip :)

Still have mirrors edge to continue, but this week i actually started setting up my own wow private server for some old buddies to play on. Will start for real after summer when they are more inclined towards gaming again. So far pretty fun to do (even thoguh just solo testing so far). I played a lot of wow 20 yrs ago

And if I don’t it’s because I’ve misplaced it, and the program isn’t going to help with that :(
In that case it will help you with where it was supposed to be

Mirrors edge. Started a few weeks ago and been getting a couple of sessions in since. Its quite fun but also very frustrating. The controls are almost there but its just janky enough for me to die stupidly at the same spot over and over if it requires some combination of actions that is difficult. I somehow survived jumping from a subway cart to another without understanding how i actually was supposed to do it properly. And the combat i dont like. But will likely try to play thru it.
I also just discovered that xenia has a linux build now so i will be exploring some x360 games in the near future to see the state of it.
- Comment on Build your retro library without breaking the bank 1 month ago:
Yea me too, there are certain aspects of emulation that gives a better experience that in my opinion makes up for not playing on original hardware, such as save states and fast forwarding. I dont have the time to play games for two hours at the time often so if save options are scarce i wont progress without save states. And skies of arcadia would have been a nightmare to play without fast forward, i think i skipped 6-8 hrs of repetitive attack animations in my playthrough (as judged by diff in play time in retroarch vs in-game).
But i would love to play on original hardware once in a while still

I first got mirrors edge around the time it came out, but didnt play it much, think it was because of stability issues. Then ive always meant to play through it but never got around to.
And while you can only ever experience portal for the first time once, it is still fun to play thorugh again, especially if its some time ago and you dont remember how to solve everything.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 1 month ago:
I picked up portal 1 again, one of my favorite games. And then i also tried frostpunk a little. Seems cool but so far i suck at keeping the people warm

What? I remember only small parts of the game being an rts. Didnt really like that part, but it was definitely not “the entire game”
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 months ago:
Iirc (and the story was not complete bogus) the first game was designed for it but some exec didnt like it and forced hud and minimap late in development and is why it feels easy and repetitive if you play with minimap. Wouldnt be surpirsed if ac2 then was not developed with that in mind and would explain why it doesnt work as well

Without getting all the references we at least found lower decks to stand very well on its own. Will rewatch once ive seen all of the tng-era shows as i think you obviously get more out of it if you also get the references, but my point was just that its not a prerequisite to enjoy it.
Im only about 4 episodes into s02 of tng so far. I was just expecting s01 and s02 to really suck based on discussions and recommendations to skip straight to s03. But ive had a good time so far and now i am really looking forward to s03 if it is so much better.

Both me and my gf started with entire lower decks, then snw and now ive started tng (from start, currently in s2 snd enjoying more than i thought based on all the recs to go straight to s3)… That has been a great entry for us at lesst

I recently finished main story in bully on ps2 (emu). About 55% completion after end mission, and 11 hrs. Did some additional missions to get me up to about 65% and then retired the game as im not all that crazy about hunting down blue rubber bands and whatnot. Did most of the classes, but lacked a few art and photography.
Moved to another ps2 title now: jak & daxter the precursor legacy. No experience with this series before, but enjoyable first 45 mins which is what i have been able to play so far.
Neverwinter nights still on the backburner for now, and tomorrow i will play some kind of multiplayer game with an old uni buddy of mine, but not decided which one yet

When watching some videos from retro game youtube channels, they tend to point to how much more daring they were back then, and all new games will just safe it. New aaa games cost so much they cant fail, but then a flop was to a larger extend “meh” and move on for the studio. Guess that made some of these games feel more freaky as you say

I just completed bully on the ps2 (emulated on pcsx2)! Had a lot of fun, planning on going for jak & daxter series next i think. I never owned the console myself, so there are many gems ive never tried, and many i only played at friends houses sporadically.
This thread is a gold mine for suggestions!

I love soulcalibur 2! I played it (and still play sometimes) on gamecube tho, but apart from a different special character (link from zelda in the gc version), its the same game. Tried soulcalibur 3 as well, but didnt really get into it - cant put my finger on why, but it was ages since i tried 3

Just chiming in that lower decks was what really set the snowball running for me (having before only seen first three seaons of disco, first season of picard, some of the tng movies ages ago and the chris pine movies). Even if you dont catch all the references, lower decks is a very enjoyable series and i plan to rewatch it after having seen the other stuff. Did snw first after lower decks and liked that a lot, and currently doing tng and enjoying that a lot.

Been continuing my playthrough of bully on ps2 (emulated) since last week. About 35-40% in now. Really enjoying it. Controls are abit clunky and the story can seem a little incoherent at times (eg suddenly a character has disappeared from the school right after doing a mission where he was very much present), but overall it is just alot of fun. Not big on collecting things so wonder what % is needed to complete main story. But got my eyes open to ps2 catalogue now as i never owned this myself and there are lots of gems i have barely or never played before. Was recommended the other ps2-era rockstar games red dead revolver, the warrioes and manhunt last week and i will check those out later.
Intended to play some more neverwinter nights, but didnt find the time. Had a real dnd session tho
