France has been attempting the exact same thing recently.

Wow, lucky you! That’s pretty funny.
- Comment on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Has Sold 2 Million Units in 2 Weeks 2 weeks ago:
It’s definitely much more polished than the first installment. I’ve played for around 40 hours so far and can probably count the bugs I’ve encountered so far on one hand.

- Comment on How do I shrink heatshrink in an explosion proof room? 2 weeks ago:
I don’t think there’s any way to safely generate just enough heat for this to work without the ignition hazard. Heatshrink definitely looks nicer than tape but I think anyone will understand in this scenario.
- Comment on How is your day going? 2 weeks ago:
I’d really like to know how they managed to do that.
- Comment on Day 208 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots 2 weeks ago:
Yes. I’ve completed every Halo game up to 4 on Legendary and 2 was by far the worst. It’s a miracle my controller survived without getting smashed to pieces.
- Comment on Important News - Geoblocking of the UK 3 weeks ago:
Out of curiosity, what are the risks of violating this law with a site hosted in Finland? I don’t believe the UK has the ability to effectively fine people in other countries. Seems like the worst they could do is block the site themselves.

Pretty sure the first game was just not optimized very well. I can run KCD2 at a very stable 60+ FPS on my RTX 3060 on high/ultra settings. The first one had about 20 FPS less in comparable environments. Not too surprising, considering that it was the dev team’s first CryEngine project. It’s notoriously hard to work with.
- Comment on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 hits 1m sales in just one day 3 weeks ago:
Definitely deserved. I’ve played it for 10+ hours so far and it’s such an improvement on the already excellent first game. It even runs much better on the same hardware.

This is almost worse than not doing anything IMO

A coupé SUV, really? The most unnecessary body style ever developed. What a disappointment.

How have Nintendo’s lawyers not shut this down yet?
- Comment on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl | Review Thread 3 months ago:
The core gameplay and story seem to be very solid and bugs can be fixed in patches. 8/10 with upwards potential looks good to me.

Cruelty Squad has been the most surprisingly enjoyable game that I’ve played in recent years. I initially thought the extremely positive rating was just elaborate trolling after looking at the screenshots.

Apparently it’s called a Katsugyo Bag to carry/transport expensive fish for whatever reason.
- Comment on German football club leaves X, warning Elon Musk ‘capable of influencing German election’ 3 months ago:
Also for a lot of people, their social circle is partly there.
I get that, but at this point I’d actively try to get them to use a different site/app. I managed to move large parts of my friends and my whole family to Signal. I’m now trying to get some to transition from Discord to Matrix, though moving there has definitely been not as smooth.
It should be much easier with Twitter, there are a bunch of very similar and usable alternatives. You just have to put in some work and convince people with solid arguments and support.

There are a lot of leftists still “fighting the good fight” on Xitter, even if the platform is pitted against them and all they do is drive engagement to it. I never understood why some people can’t bring themselves to leave. I left reddit for much less.
- Comment on Elon's Death Machine (aka Tesla) Mows Down Deer at Full Speed , Keeps Going on "Autopilot" 3 months ago:
The poster, who pays Tesla CEO Elon Musk for a subscription to the increasingly far-right social media site, claimed that the FSD software “works awesome” and that a deer in the road is an “edge case.” One might argue that edge cases are actually very important parts of any claimed autonomy suite, given how drivers check out when they feel the car is doing the work, but this owner remains “insanely grateful” to Tesla regardless.
How are these people always such pathetic suckers.

Interesting to see that China is ranking fairly low on the index and Vietnam so high. Really didn’t expect that.
- Comment on Reddit is making sitewide protests basically impossible 5 months ago:
They heavily biased towards China and Russia, two countries with fascist governments. That kinda speaks for itself, even if they claim to be communists or socialists.
- Comment on Mahle CEO Arnd Franz says hydrogen will fail without fossil fuels 5 months ago:
The single advantage hydrogen has over batteries is that the “refueling” is pretty much instantaneous. If charging infrastructure and technology improves, there will be no reason to bother with it anymore.

Why? Doesn’t look like there’s any explanation for this move.
- Comment on Founder and CEO of Telegram messaging service arrested in France 6 months ago:
If the CEO of Lyft got repeated warnings that this very thing was happening and ignored them willfully, then yes. In the end he has nobody to blame but himself. It’s no different from hosting a file sharing platform without ever vetting the content and wondering why the cops show up one day. The stupidity of going to France knowing that you’re a wanted man in a number of countries is just the cherry on top.
- Comment on Founder and CEO of Telegram messaging service arrested in France 6 months ago:
This is more like arresting the getaway driver, not the car manufacturer.
- Comment on Founder and CEO of Telegram messaging service arrested in France 6 months ago:
Exactly. Telegram has a ton of public channels full of content that is illegal in most EU countries and refuses to comply with any local laws on hate speech. They know perfectly well what their platform is used for, they just don’t care. It would be a wildly different case if everything were E2E encrypted by default.
