- Comment on With all this talk about Ai not being profitable why aren't we using it in video games? I dont mean replacing developers I mean in NPCs in the game. I make them more realistic. 5 days ago:
Indeed! Seems like people have forgotten that AI is not just LLMs.
- Comment on With the ICE raids coming up at a very faster rate, do we need more self-defense (or community defense organizing) classes? 2 weeks ago:
Honestly, I misread your post to be self defense.

Sadly, it might not help you. A wrong look in their direction can mean being shot in the face.
- Comment on Is Winnie the Pooh considered "racist" now or are .ml folks using it as an excuse to defend Xi Jin Ping? 2 weeks ago:
It’s not racist. It’s just what Chinese people started meming Xi years ago and the CCP government overreacted. Simple as that. Its what happens when an authoritarian leader gets flustered about their image.

You’d have to go looking for a specific model but huggingface.co has a model for nearly anything you’d want. You just have to setup your local machine to run it.
- Comment on (A)lbert e(I)nstein 3 weeks ago:
I’m not sure what you mean by ideal. Like, run any model you ever wanted? Probably the latest ai nvidia chips.
But you can get away with a lot less for smaller models. I have the amd mid range card from 4 years ago (i forget the model at the top of my head) and can run text, 8B sized, models without issue.

Not if you run it locally!
- Comment on AI companies rn be like... 1 month ago:
It’s sad because at least with public companies they must disclose important information to investors. With private capital, this is really only feasible for investors with large capital and leverage. Smaller investors may as well buy lottery tickets than I vest into any private capital.
- Comment on Why is it so hard to buy the same toothbrush twice? 8 months ago:
Might not work with electric because the batteries will degrade anyways
- Comment on Tesla accused of hacking odometers to weasel out of warranty repairs 9 months ago:
Who would’ve guessed a company headed by a scumbag would do this.
Hope the owners get compensated.
- Comment on History is rewritten by victors. How can I find books about actual history? 9 months ago:
Rewriting/forging historical documents to fit your narrative is really difficult and time consuming. I’m sure you can go to a library and actually see the documents. You can even see this with declassified documents, although they’ll be redacted. This isn’t the same for internet archives though.
I’d say, for “victors”, it’s easier to destroy primary sources.
- Comment on How to effectively protest outside my House representative's office 10 months ago:
You might be better off finding a political group based in your area and helping them campaign for your district.
- Comment on Why don't states in the US come up with their own health insurance program? So people can pay into it prolly less then what they pay now and the state put the money in a bank and use the interest for 11 months ago:
One is Medi-Cal. The trouble ,from my uniformed opinion, is probably having to get funding through passing a proposition or law, establishing the personnel, making all the contracts with each provider and competition from private insurance companies.
