As long as you’re running KDE, it will feel familiar to a Windows user. I started with Kubuntu which was great until I had a system update, and it completely shat itself. Wanted to try Bazzite next, but the installer wouldn’t work properly, so I installed OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, and I’ve seen no reason to switch since.

I use the Decky plugin, and paid for GOG support, but they have their work cut out for them in convincing me to pay for this. Running Heroic isn’t that much of a hassle.

Journalists in general have lost an unbelievable amount of credibility, and games bloggers are the bottom of the barrel.

I’ve had a lifetime pass for years, but have considered making the switch several times. So far I’ve held back because, and correct me if I’m wrong, there are told to transfer watch state, but not ratings, and while there’s a plugin for dynamic collections, it’s based on tags, so you can’t just have a collection based on something like rating. My library also contains “custom” shows where there’s no match for it online, so I’ve manually assigned it some details.

I got excited for a second until I realized it’s a remaster. Yeah, I don’t really care at that point.
- Comment on Are mods usually confusing as hell or am I just an idiot? 2 months ago:
Can’t say that I’ve ever had this issue. Usually mod authors will tell you where to install them, or package the files in a folder structure such that there is no thinking involved.

If you’re using sonarr and radarr, which is definitely not what most pirates are doing, piracy is the most convenient by leagues. You get everything under one service and it automatically shows up as soon as it’s available in the quality you’ve specified interest in.
- Comment on In the era of remakes and remasters, what niche game would you like to see receive the treatment? 5 months ago:
Sid Meier’s Pirates! There are so few actually good pirate games.

True, but even through Steam, you’re still dealing with Ubi’s launcher and Denuvo, so it’s just adding another layer on top.

I wanted to play this, but not enough to interact with their launcher and Denuvo.

I agree, I would never subscribe to such a specific community, and the decentralization, to my eye, leads to less user engagement; if one of these link posts don’t have comments, I’m less inclined to even click on it in the first place.

Hell yeah. I went with Kubuntu because I figured it would be easy for a beginner to troubleshoot eventual issues, given the amount of asked-and-answered Ubuntu queries online.

If you’re coming from Windows, something that runs KDE Plasma will feel very familiar.
