I always felt very smug about the fact that biotech had labs below chem engineers in uni. Like they were somewhere there below and squeezed into the spare free spaces

Kinda meaningless in the age of digital. Back then once you burned a book the knowledge literally was gone.

Some kind of commie drivel that’s literally incomprehensible since final debunking in 70s

Interwebs are too addicting. It’s like we are all in one room and are snorting coke by ourselves.
It’s one thing to read a newspaper or a book, different one to scroll social media in an infinite loop of dopamine

I went the route of substance desensitisation and copious amounts of self delusion. I am doing super fine 💪

War movies all lost luster if they ever had any after watching a lot of real footage due to Ukraine. It’s just all romanticised crap.

Fediverse is not super far from original internet idea with one exception of convenient block feature. Let’s hope that’s enough to prevent the sequel.

You had some point, this looks like it will be absolutely deranged experience

I have continuous doubts if a tankie having nick after Jean-Jacques Dessalines can exhibit any grown up behaviour. It’s like 15 year old pretending for a while to be all democratic and responsible but who knows what’s in that edgy head.

I am genuinely sad for HB. There are lgbt ppl there, generally dear to me and seeing them enjoy such cesspit lured in by cultish atmosphere, supporting the very forces that can only destroy but not build anything. It is personal.

This maybe a side effect of turning off the points experiment. Instead of getting dopamine from points I get inbox points. So it could be that I subconsciously make my comments in a way that is more likely to attract some kind of response.

I don’t like to make myself blind to the things so to say. I prefer to see everything, every post and comment.

Remember to try hiding vote display and see how it changes your usage. It’s underrated feature that imo makes you focus on the quality of the content of the comment/post itself rather than popularity.
- Comment on Some subreddits could be paywalled, hints Reddit CEO 3 months ago:
What you want is quality of small platforms with the amount of content from big. It’s unsolvable problem so far
