If you’re using your phone, definitely check out YouTube revanced. Or if on a tv check out Smart tube next. No ads, sponsor block baked in. It’s all the perks of premium (plus more) without the cons of supporting an evil company

Essentially banning any apps that would hurt googles profits.
I thought that was pretty obvious.

We’re just not gonna see eye to eye on this.
I want privacy and freedom. You want Google to dictate what apps you can use even though it doesn’t effect you.
You don’t give a shit about people who rely on apps that aren’t from the play store. You cant seem to understand why it’s bad because it won’t effect you. It’s selfish
- Comment on Google: 'Your $1000 phone needs our permission to install apps now'". Android users are screwed - Louis Rossmann 4 weeks ago:
You need an ID for those activities because it is required by law. Apples and oranges. Your argument is a logical fallacy of false equivalency.
A government dictating what you can and cannot do by law is a completely different thing than some random company telling you what you can and can’t do with a device you own.
And again, if you’re uncomfortable with that - then you still have the option of only downloading apps via the play store where identities are already verified.
So again, it’s the gay marriage argument - do you support the freedom of others to do something you may not want to do? Or would you rather restrict others freedom when it doesn’t effect you? If it’s the latter, then I think you’re an objectively bad person.
- Comment on Google: 'Your $1000 phone needs our permission to install apps now'". Android users are screwed - Louis Rossmann 4 weeks ago:
That’s interesting, where did you grow up? I grew up believing everybody had the right to privacy. And to not provide your identity to strangers on the internet
It’s like gay marriage. If you don’t want to do it, you don’t have to. But don’t support restricting the freedom of others because it won’t effect you

You don’t have a problem with Google dictating what you can and cannot do on your own phone? Seriously?
What’s the benefit of that?

Bluetooth alternatives aren’t better, that’s laughable.
You cant buy beyerdynamics DT-990s with Bluetooth, you cant get Sennheiser HD 490 Pros with Bluetooth, you cant buy Audeze LCD-5s with Bluetooth. I could go on and on but you get the point. Good headphones don’t use Bluetooth.
The nice headphones a lot of us have had for years, well before the headphone jack was removed don’t have Bluetooth.
So when you say they’re better 1. You’re wrong. And 2. You’re missing the point.
If you prefer Bluetooth, fine, but phones with headphone jacks still have Bluetooth. You’re only ok with it because it doesn’t effect you and I think that’s appalling.
Imagine phone manufacturers remove the ability to use Bluetooth headphones and I say “that’s fine, wired headphones are better anyway”. It’s not about that, it’s about removing your freedom to choose and it should NOT be tolerated
- Comment on UK | London targets noisy commuters with headphone campaign 5 weeks ago:
My phone has a headphone jack, so it’s easy for me to plug in some headphones. Most people are not that lucky.
Obviously you shouldn’t be playing audio out loud, but I do sympathize that simply plugging in headphones isn’t an option for most people, needing to carry dongles, or making sure Bluetooth headphones are charged.
I think some blame should be placed on device manufacturers mostly abandoning the industry standard
- Comment on The time and expense of commuting is theft, if that job can be done from home. 5 weeks ago:
I’ve never had a plumber not charge a callout fee. Same applies for any trade. Idk where you live that you don’t, but in my experience, any kind of tradesperson will always charge a fee for their commute
- Comment on Google will block sideloading of unverified Android apps starting next year 5 weeks ago:
I’ve never owned an iPhone, but I 100% agree with you. The reason I choose android is because of the freedom to use my phone how i want (for the most part).
Apple is a walled garden, but their security is good, they’re not an advertising company in the same way google is and don’t have as much of an incentive to harvest and sell your data. If android is going to be a walled garden like iOS, I trust apple more than i do google and If in the future I can’t find a phone that has all the features i want anyway, then i may as well just get an iPhone.

when you buy a banana at the grocery store, show me the receipt that you paid for the shipping of said banana. When you buy a computer keyboard, show me the receipt for the ‘F’ key. When you buy a TV, show me the receipt for the capacitors.
This is not how receipts work.

- Comment on Florida sues some of the biggest porn platforms, accusing them of not complying with the state's age verification law 1 month ago:
I don’t think you’re understanding the issue here. It’s not a “porn is bad” issue. It’s a foreign government dictating how a service that is not hosted in their country is run issue.
If you think Florida has any right to dictate how a French company is run then idk what to tell you. Florida has no jurisdiction in France.

Most Australians live in or near a major city, it’s pretty common to be able to get gigabit. if you’re unlucky you might be limited to 100 megabit, but in some remote or rural areas I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 5Mb.

So interesting to me that Americans think being dependent on a car is “freedom”. Individual freedom should be the freedom to get to where you need to go with viable options to walk, bike, train, bus, tram, or drive.
