however, now that Walmart has pickup for groceries, I often am, “oops I left a wad of money back there, you can put it in your pocket” just to avoid the Walmart tip process online. Who knows who is getting it. If they workers want tips they should fight to be the “bring the food to the car” people or have an honest collaboration with the “pick the food from the shelves for my order people”, I just assume they rotate around.
Anyhow, sometimes it is even pouring rain, and I said, damn! – then the guy said that unless there was thunder or lightning they had to go into the rain.

I often wonder what happened to the code I wrote in 2010 and used for production coordination & was working fine when I retired (2018). I figured the minute I left the hotshot kids would want to upgrade to their own styles. Not everyone liked it bc it functional. I was busy learning design and assemble CNC routers; but it worked and I didn’t have time to make a selection of backgrounds & banners. It’s just Excel, AutoCAD, & Access using VBA, which everyone has says they are going to deprecate VBA but, alas, people still want it. I remember Autodesk announcing the deprecation of VBA c. 2012 and I just looked and I guess they changed their mind bc there are modules for VBA available

sometimes legacy methods last longer bc no one wants to be a hotshot.

although there can be hard paradigms that are wrong and were still taught, isn’t creation-smuggling into textbooks still a thing? In < 100 yrs people will laugh at those of us that believe other than biological natural selection evolution over billions of years

In this instance if UBI is generalized, whoever[?] is issuing the cards to make sure you buy what they want you to buy… whoa. I’ll just live in the woods.

How come one can’t buy a rural 1/4 acre and pour a foundation for a 1200 Sq. Ft. utilitarian house that is built taking a loan for everything, living out of an old trailer on property & doing 1099 subcontracting internet work? The loan is n% of the whole, the rest is up to the person to supply. Gotta stack paper. The housing shortage is subject to wanting to have a good time, versus living a frugal present for an uncertain future.
Second hint: one should built their credit from starting at, say 650, and building to 750, all by paying bills on time for two or three years.
It isn’t easy to deny the luxuries of the world, because YOLO could end at anytime in this world. If you are a city type, it must be frustrating, so I see more and more ppl going 1099 remote subcontracting from cheaper, more rural areas, say 50 miles from the metropolitan area

Eventuallly energy will become so inexpensive that trade and commerce as we think of it, is like comparing trade and commerce of 50, 100 or 200 years ago, completely changed tech. So it is likely to be a different system than owners and workers. One solution is everyone gets a share in X portfolio of their choosing, then they are the owners and can get the UBI or own shares in the company(ies) they think will be profitable. If you can’t manage equities, you get a lower UBI to get some soap and raman noodles and a tent.

for the younger people, when I was young in the 1970’s the smog was plentiful and they worked on non-pollution. It got very much cleaned up and no one remembers the massive effort to convince people to pay extra for things, so catalytic converters and such could help with pollution. Also, in the 1970’s a nearby small lake would freeze over every winter. I can’t remember it being safe to skate on one day since 2003.

Park vehicles in garage, if possible Ensure your driveway is well lit and keep exterior lights on all night Security cameras are an asset If possible, install a home security system – activate alarm on STAY when home and AWAY when out Consider having a motion detection alarm connected to your cell phone Put security film on glass windows and doors Have multipoint door locks on your doors Keep backyard gates locked and ground windows secured Do not post on social media when you will be away on holiday Report suspicious vehicles/persons in the neighbourhood to police
Sounds expensive. how about just “Everyone gets a car!”
