I just returned it, but my idea was a separate VLAN and block all connections except for whitelisted ones for streaming. Smart tvs/rokus/etc do a lot of talking and they could theoretically brick themselves if there isn’t an internet connection available.
The future is a wonderful place!

Last tv i bought wouldn’t let you set it up without connecting to the internet. Guess we’ll need open hardware tvs next if they don’t aleady exist

Like $20 for the first 90 minutes. Makes it very affordable to not own a truck for the few times a year you might need to haul something home

What advantage is there is changing nameservers? Is it just the centrally manage DNS or something else? I’m fairly new to self hosting and only serving locally for now.
I do know cloudflare uses the same nameservers PER ACCOUNT so if you’re wanting to have multiple domains but keep one or more connections separated from you then this does draw a minor connection to a subset of Cloudflare accounts with the same two nameservers

Pc only but I’m in no rush. They always come down eventually 😅 plus my free time is limited atm anyway so it’s not a huge deal waiting for a better deal

Soulslike games are personal challenges. So whatever makes sense to you. but default if it is in the game then it’s fair game. If you want to do a run where you don’t use summons or limit yourself in some other way then that’s cool too. I like doing SL1 challenges. I’m terrible at it but it is fun to fun to see how much i improve

It’s too expensive for me atm, but I’m also a patient gamer so i don’t mind waiting a few more years to see it get down even more. I didn’t think the current sale price was unreasonable compared to what i expected it to be. Just more than I’m willing to pay

Ultimately, arguing that you don’t care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don’t care about free speech because you have nothing to say.

Utah teen lgbtqia+ suicide rate is very high. I’ve got a friend who is a therapist out there and i do not envy them. The Mormon church tries to say that they love and accept everyone but if you push them they will clarify they can love someone but they hate the sin. Ask yourself, how can you love someone when you can’t accept a fundamental part of them? If you practice your gayness/etc you will be treated differently by Mormon church standards. You will lose out on church privileges and be ostracized.

From what I’ve heard self hosting your email though can be a big PITA so paying someone for email is not a terrible choice. Self hosting you need to carefully manage the system and reputation to make sure your email that you send actually gets delivered, and doesn’t arrive in spam.
- Comment on Former telecom manager admits to doing SIM swaps for $1,000 8 months ago:
There was a darknet diaries episode on swim swaps recently that some of you might find interesting. Ep 112: Dirty Coms.
from the episode: You also have to worry about current/former employees knowing how to use manager tablets, because those tablets can get stolen and then passed off to someone who knows what they’re doing to do a swim swap before the tablet gets locked out
- Comment on Roku got hacked 8 months ago:
Hackers didn’t hack roku. They “hacked” people who were dumb enough to reuse old, compromised passwords from other services. That is a very big difference from OPs title “roku got hacked”.
It is good for roku to disclose this, but the issue is that people reuse passwords.

Very misleading title

My general dev experience is limited mostly to python but with pandas one thing you can do is set up a jupyter notebook so you can run just the parts you want until it’s working as expected, then you can move it over to your python script when you’re ready.
But working with pandas does get easier with practice. If you’re wanting to dive in a bit more, the “getting started” page has a tutorials section which features a 10 minute high level overview, a cheatsheet, and link to some community tutorials.
