From what I've seen, I sincerely think you'll like it at Beehaw. They're an ok bunch of progressive folks who refuse to let it become a nazi bar. I can get behind that. Have fun!

- Comment on Are MRNA vaccines any riskier than other vaccines? 11 months ago:
So would you say that vaccines are still needed for all, or just for people like me who are immunosuppressed?
Vaccines are needed for all, as in everyone who is eligible for inoculation. Yes, if I am vaccinated, my body will be much better equipped to successfully fight off the virus and keep me out of the hospital (and the morgue)...but in doing so, I also contribute to the overall herd immunity, which protects people who have pre-existing conditions, cannot be safely inoculated, or have immune system issues. If I don't get vaccinated, I don't just put myself at risk; if I get covid (which isn't always obvious because it doesn't always present physical symptoms, aka I could be a carrier), I also risk infecting everyone I come in contact with, which endangers people like you.

Same here, it's fun and has the spirit of the "striving for a better future" optimism that we all know and love. Great writing. We are living in a real golden age of Trek right now, what a time to be alive.

What OS & version are you using that automatically converts file types when you change the filename via the default file manager interface? I have never heard of this function before.
- Comment on Firefox for Android now supports over 450 add-ons 1 year ago:
you can just manually change the extension to “.jpeg” or “.png” and Windows/Linux/Android file managers will automatically convert it
Thank you for the suggestion, but that's not how it works. Changing a file's extension doesn't change the file type; it just changes the name.

Bah, no sign of "Save webP as PNG or JPEG" yet.

Hahah, it's fun trying to guess who said this. Rutherford? I have no idea. Yeah this show keeps getting better and better! Wife and I will probably start watching season 03 this week, can't wait!

I rolled my eyes when I saw one of the first promo posters. I thought it was gonna be super snarky and unfunny, but am glad I was wrong! I shouldn't have judged. It's also pretty dramatic and sad at times, which really threw me off at first because it's just so well done, you know? The writing is top notch.
Oh that crossover one on SNW was great, they somehow made it work! Loved that remark Mariner and Boimler made about how every talks so quietly and slowly.
- Comment on Is jQuery still the go-to JS helper library? 1 year ago:
Same here, tbh I haven't thought about jquery in a while and kinda came in here to see if it's dead or not. Yeah frameworks have largely eliminated the "need" for jquery libraries for most projects. It's weird to think about, didn't take too long to happen.

I have to admit, I also had issues with Disco; the Klingons' prosthetics made it hard to understand them, like they had a collective speech impediment or something. Some other minor nitpicky things too, but I largely got over it all. I'm digging what the show is doing now and am sad to see it ending so soon.
Honestly I’m surprised they actually did manage to pull off a Star Trek comedy without appearing to make fun of Star Trek and its fans. But they did. (At least in my view they did.)
I know, right? Serious props to the writing team. Sometimes I feel like I'm watching a really smart meta satire/parody and I have to remind myself, like, "wait, this shit is canon!"
I do think Boimler is supposed to represent the ultimate TNG fanboy, though it's done tastefully and lovingly. The way he marks out over meeting Tom Paris or the plot of random TNG episodes is hilarious and is a lot like how we all talk sometimes.
Ah, such a great show!!

- Comment on [Zelda II]I did it! 1 year ago:
I remember this one. Yeah, that one was tough, I never bothered to pick it up again after I beat it. The og Zelda and LTTP for sure, multiple times, but not Zelda II. I mean, I remember liking it, but it just didn't scratch that itch the way the top-down adventuring style did, ya know?
That said, congrats! A hero is you!
- Comment on Grinding coffee with a splash of water reduces static electricity and makes more consistent and intense espresso: Study 1 year ago:
Hear hear! I used to grind beans with a regular old blade grinder, and the resulting grounds were always really inconsistent; half of it would end up really dine, almost like a powder, and it would take forever to brew and would sometimes clog the filter. The burr grinder I picked up cost more, but it was worth it. I'm never going back, blade grinders suck.
