Well some haven’t disabled ublock yet. So it isn’t that silly if chrome based is what they need to run for certain sites. Just use something that is based off it and isn’t stoping ublock yet.

Just use edge, it’s chrome based. Or any other chrome based browsers that aren’t google chrome?

Welp if they don’t advertise it I’m not going to buy it. I bought the “dumb” Frigidaire because the smart features they list are just turn on and off and fan speed. Why wouldn’t they list full bucket ffs. Oh well time to diy solution it.

Jokes on you I have like 5 raspberry pi’s that aren’t doing anything labeled future projects.
- Comment on xkcd #3109: Dehumidifier 2 weeks ago:
Haha no they don’t which is why I went with one that didn’t have WiFi to save like 20$

I need to look into this and see if I can have it send me a text or something when it’s full. Another diy project to add to the list.
- Comment on xkcd #3109: Dehumidifier 2 weeks ago:
I’ve looked into many WiFi dehumidifier’s and the one thing I wanted from it was to notify my phone if it’s full. None of them do that. All they do is let you change speed and stuff. Nothing that is important to me. I just want to know if I need to go to the basement and empty it or not.

I wouldn’t trust eufy with anything since they leaked people’s webcams and then said there wasn’t an issue for a long time. Cool tech but I’d never buy eufy product that connects to web.
- Comment on Reevaluating my password management 2 weeks ago:
This is what I did. Once Firefox did something and wiped my passwords from sync only way I got them back was I had an old laptop I didn’t use often that was synced to my account. Now I use keepass that’s saved locally and a backup on my nas & flashdrive.

Really? Guess it hasn’t hit me yet. I use Firefox and haven’t noticed any slowdowns.

I don’t connect mine to internet and just use an Apple TV for all the apps I want. Why would you use the TV apps they are always pretty shitty in my experience. Also they can’t get your data if it isn’t connected to the web.

Thank you for all the info. I am running plex off an intel nuc my NAS is just storing all the files for it. So cpu for the actual NAS can be either or tbh.
And I think I’m going to self build and search more on here for what other people did and for any more questions I may have!

Ah I’ll have to see then. HD isn’t that much of an issue to get. Really the hardware and software to run a new NAS will be the most difficult thing for me. Since it isn’t my expertise and I’m still learning.
- Comment on Looking to upgrade my NAS need advice. 1 month ago:
Yeah that makes sense. Do you have any recommendations on a DIY or non synology specific system?
- Comment on Looking to upgrade my NAS need advice. 1 month ago:
Okay then I’d have to buy 4 more 12TB drives to transfer it all over. Good to know.

I’d buy a prusa core.
- Comment on Synology could bring “certified drive” requirements to more NAS devices 2 months ago:
I have a synology I bought 3rd party ram (not synology) and it works fine. Same with drives just bought some seagate drives. Probably going to upgrade from a 4 bay to a 12 and I don’t see compatibility of ram being an issue. I just don’t feel like building a whole racked system I just want to plug and play and forget. As of now tho only thing I lose is warranty cause I’m using not “certified” ram and drives.

All the people yes jellyfin is great but plex is easiest to share to non tech people to just download an app and they are instantly connected to my server. It’s just works and it’s a lot easier to explain to my family then jellyfin is.

Mine were great. Still going. Honestly as you did just contact support they should take care of it.

So I have a lifetime pass. But my family members have their own accounts. Will they be able to watch from their house to my server now or will they need to pay? Cause if that’s so guess I’m switching to jellyfin and teaching them how to work it.
