Oh no! Anyway.
- Comment on What are you playing this week? June 10 2024 Edition 5 months ago:
I’m playing Wildermyth. A longtime friend recommended it to me last night, and so I booted it up at work this morning and ended up playing for six hours straight till I finished the first campaign. Personally, I think the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam are well deserved. It’s definitely one of the best player-driven storytelling games I’ve ever played, and I can’t wait to see what the next campaign has in store for me.
- Comment on Why Didn't Democrats Do More When They Controlled Both Houses of Legislature, The White House, and The Supreme Court During Obama's First Term? 6 months ago:
Because Democrats aren’t progressives, and maintaining the status quo is good for them. They get easy paychecks from lobby groups, and don’t have to fight too hard for anything. And if something bad happens, like Roe v. Wade, they can use it as fodder to get reelected. It’s not really in their best interests to work on making things better, at least from a personal financial standpoint.
- Comment on Novel attack against virtually all VPN apps neuters their entire purpose 6 months ago:
This isn’t a problem with the VPN, as the article says.
- Comment on [Serious] What is project 2025? What kind of risk is involved? 6 months ago:
Don’t be scared? I mean, even if there’s a full on civil war, which isn’t likely, why would it spill into Canada unless your nation picks a side?
What’s more likely is that democrats would do what they always do and back down, cementing our slide into facism while preventing a civil war.
What you should really be worried about is having a violent monarchy forming on your southern border, because you’ve got some socialist tendencies, and conservatives hate that.

Yeeesh, that gives me secondary embarrassment for you 😬
- Comment on NATO sounds alarm over 'hostile' Russian activity across Europe 6 months ago:
Must be true, because you lot can’t pass up a chance to get hot and bothered.
Signed, an anarchist (you gotta put the comma in there, or else tell us what anarchist you signed).

- Comment on YouTube's war against third party apps is just as ridiculous as its war on adblockers 6 months ago:
No, I blocked it myself actually, using a plugin.
- Comment on YouTube's war against third party apps is just as ridiculous as its war on adblockers 6 months ago:
I remember back when YouTube had ads. Haven’t had that issue for years now though.

The problem with Photoshop is the people who use Photoshop. They don’t respect the art.

- Comment on Why are male social workers so different? 6 months ago:
Could also just be internal biases, on the side of either or both of you. Don’t rule out the possibility that you are the problem.
- Comment on Why are male social workers so different? 6 months ago:
Well to be fair, we don’t know that you aren’t. You could be a murderer. Or even worse, somebody who doesn’t mind wearing their socks after they get wet.

Nah, commies have special rules, on account of being better humans than everyone else.

These places are all just Russia anyway, right, comrade? ALL WILL BE RETURNED TO THE GLORIOUS UNION!
Soviet anthem plays in the background while some fat keyboard tankie salutes, a tear running down their unwashed, white cishet face

- Comment on Vanguard takes screenshots of your PC every time you play a game 6 months ago:
I don’t play Valorant, so I can’t say. I do know, however, that it runs as a Windows service, so it’s always on and always keeping an eye on your system.
- Comment on Vanguard takes screenshots of your PC every time you play a game 6 months ago:
Valorant, as of right now. I don’t think any other games use it.
- Comment on ByteDance won't sell TikTok, would rather pull it from the US 6 months ago:
I mean, not on the surface. But lobby groups working for foreign governments operate in Washington to this day, and they’re ignored because Congress doesn’t want to shut the money tap off.
- Comment on Rooftop solar panels are flooding California’s grid. That’s a problem. As electricity prices go negative, the Golden State is struggling to offload a glut of solar power 6 months ago:
Sorry for asking all these questions, but how do you turn off solar? Doesn’t it keep generating while there’s sunlight?
- Comment on Rooftop solar panels are flooding California’s grid. That’s a problem. As electricity prices go negative, the Golden State is struggling to offload a glut of solar power 6 months ago:
I’m not familiar with how power grids work, is an excess of power bad for the grid if it isn’t used?
- Comment on Why bag the hydrant? 7 months ago:
Salt resistant paint is industrial, and it’s expensive. Depending on the product, it can also be a two part system and need special preparation. And by expensive, I mean it can cost over a hundred dollars per gallon, if you aren’t getting a deal on it. That’s a big investment for a smaller town.
- Comment on Al Jazeera could probably fire/replace its writers with LLMs, rebrand as AI Jazeera, and no one would immediately notice. 7 months ago:
You’re not wrong, because it took me a solid ten seconds to figure out what the fuck you meant with the rebranding.
- Comment on Father's plea for starving children in north Gaza after son dies of malnutrition 8 months ago:
This just in, Israel says the child was Hamas. The US has said they’ve seen the proof and agree. Biden has promised more bombs to deal with the other children.

- Comment on 'It's definitely backfiring': Seattle ordinance intended to help app delivery workers is 'hurting' them 9 months ago:
They don’t need magic the money out of anywhere, they already have it. They just have to want something other than to exploit whatever they can for profit, which is something they won’t consider.
- Comment on People who dont particularly care for or celebrate Christmas, Whats your favorite Christmas song? 10 months ago:
Carol of the Bells. No other Christmas song goes as hard.
- Comment on Data poisoning: how artists are sabotaging AI to take revenge on image generators 11 months ago:
Not even that, they can run the training dataset through a bulk image processor to undo it, because the way these things work makes them trivial to reverse. Anybody at home could undo this with GIMP and a second or two.
In other words, this is snake oil.
- Comment on It's official: Evernote will restrict free users to 50 notes | TechCrunch 11 months ago:
I haven’t used Evernote since I discovered Obsidian. Combine it with the Git plugin, and my notes are backed up to a private repository and synced to all my devices. There isn’t a lot that Obsidian can’t do, with one plugin or another.
