As a woman of an age dealing with unfortunate hormonal fluctuations, I’m holding myself to this. It’s almost frustrating in the way it’s paying off.
I’ve been riding the cycle of shitty sleep leading to excess caffeine, leading to shittier sleep even taking melatonin, leading to even more poor diet choices. I suffered through a day where I denied myself afternoon caffeine (stopping at noon, where previously I thought 3pm was close enough) and had a sucky day. But I slept slightly better that night. Holding myself to this, each night’s sleep has been slightly better, and I feel like I’m making smarter decisions again.
It’s still too early to say if it’ll be a long term solution, but this last week I’ve started taking small doses of l-theanine. It’s the stuff in tea that’s supposed to help you relax. I found 200mg chewable tablets that I break into 1/4-1/3 pieces. I take a little in the morning and some before bed, and am overall feeling more relaxed. I’ve slept beautifully the last few nights without melatonin, but with my track record I want to see that hold a good month before guiding the l-theanine all the credit.

The old Coke Zero was amazing! It tasted closer to regular Coke without the extra sweetness that sugared colas have (regular colas taste like pancake syrup to me.) I was disappointed a few years ago when they tweaked the flavor. I think they sweetened it a little more to bring it closer to Pepsi’s level of sweetness, which I don’t particularly care for. After a year of not tasting the old formula of Coke Zero, the new one is ok. So really it’s probably for the best since I drink less of it now lol (good goin Coke lol.)

I know it’s the angle and I know I’ve seen this image at some point in the past and I’ve seen it correctly, but for some reason the chair legs on the near side are totally fucked and my brain won’t accept them.

You and I both know that they should be vented outside, but I’m guessing how often it isn’t would be quite frustrating.
My shitty starter house (1995) didn’t have a vent, but there was a window in the kitchen, so did that count? My boyfriend’s house is in a higher cost of living area with absurdly expensive houses, and he was told (after purchasing the house when he was getting some things updated) that his vented into the attic. He doesn’t use it because he doesn’t want to blow aerosolized oils all over whatever’s up there.

A cop had someone handcuffed in the backseat, an acorn landed on the car, the cop panicked thought he’d been shot and emptied his gun at his car, somehow not killing the person handcuffed in back.

My boyfriend bought his kids special cereal bowls that have a divider in the middle. Cereal on one side, milk on the other. Spoon the dry cereal, dip into the milk side.
My old ass feels like either that’s too much trouble, or maybe I just don’t appreciate cereal that much lol .
- Comment on No one say it! 9 months ago:
I adopted an adult kitty a few years back and he had horrible dental issues which resulted in having most of his teeth extracted (I ended up with significant discounts per tooth because most of them basically fell out once any stress was applied.) After a few weeks of wet food he went back to eating mostly dry. Per my vet, cats mostly swallow pieces of dry food whole and the crunching occasionally heard is more the result of pieces of food getting caught between teeth while repositioning in the mouth to swallow.
I still give the little guy a fat tablespoon of moist food every morning as a treat, but aside from that he just eats dry without a problem.

I support you on the moisturizing thing, but can’t follow you down the coconut oil road. I can’t stand the smell of coconut. Being someone who burns easily in the sun, I chalk it up to many years of smelling shitty fake coconut scented sunblock products.
As a massage therapist, I have to wash my hands constantly. During the colder months I have to moisturize or my skin cracks. Whatever unscented product that doesn’t leave me leaving greasy fingerprints all over the place is usually good enough until I wash my hands again in another hour.

I’ve only been to CFA a few times, but even with lines wrapped around the building I don’t think I’ve ever waited longer than 10 minutes. Burger King is regularly that long of a wait and I was actually stuck waiting 20 minutes at McDonald’s last week (they asked me to pull up and pretty sure they forgot about me.) I try to plan ahead and not rely so much on fast food, but as much time as I spend in my car driving for work, I’m usually stopping somewhere 1-2x a week.

Overall? It’s poorly drawn. Occasionally you might come across a random “deep” toilet design, but most are much lower. As long as it’s deep enough so that my poop is submerged so I don’t have to smell it waiting to flush, I’m satisfied.
- Comment on Starbucks accused of rigging payments in app for nearly $900 million gain over 5 years by consumer watchdog group 10 months ago:
Keep in mind that for a number of people, places like Starbucks and Dunkin create an accessable entry to something beyond a home made pot of Folgers.
I grew up smelling my parents coffee and enjoying the smell, but the taste was horrific so I swore off drinking coffee. Fast forward many years and I dipped my toe into that overly sweet and milky Starbucks and found something that actually tasted good to me. Many years later I have my own grinder and espresso machine, and numerous other coffee gadgets, and might only darken the door of Starbucks/Dunkin a few times a year for convenience. Can I make something at home I enjoy more? Yep. But there’s nothing wrong with other people having other tastes along their coffee journey.
