Yep just use what you’ve got! I’m running my server off a little workstation I got for free from work. I’m working on setting up another server for my sister on one of her old laptops then we’ll use each other’s as off-site backups and for redundancy. Work with your friends and family to get them off big tech too! Pretty much everyone has some old system sitting around that could be brought back to life and act as a server.

No, if you have a billion dollars while people starve you’re morally compromised and I have no sympathy for you, just like they have no sympathy for the majority of people on the planet.
- Comment on What should we actually turn our aggression towards? 6 days ago:
Yes we need to direct our anger to the wealthy elites that do anything for a profit regardless of what it does to the planet or the people living here. Problem is they own the media that controls the masses, and they’ve got a good chunk of people convinced it’s actually the poor and powerless that are the cause of the worlds problems. They sit like dragons on their piles of gold. We should eat the rich.

I wonder how their advertisers feel knowing this huge chunk of ‘users’ are bogus - how much ad revenue was wasted on these 800 million accounts? If I were one of those advertisers I’d be asking for a refund.

I’d be interested to know, the reason I know my city doesn’t have it is a bunch of residents pushed for it at multiple council meetings.
- Comment on Flock CEO calls Deflock a “terrorist organization” 5 weeks ago:
My city is one of the few in my county that doesn’t have a contract with flock, but the county was nice enough to put them up around town anyway.
