- Comment on Explained: Why you can't move Windows 11 taskbar like Windows 10, according to Microsoft 3 hours ago:
Please, consider trying out linux if you haven't: you can usually make a "live usb" and take it for a test drive without having to actually reinstall (if you don't like it, just take the usb stick out and reboot back to windows).
I would dearly love to never again have to hear about the latest bullshit Microsoft is foisting on people.
Do your part! Switch. Everything just works better over here.

I think someone definitely needs to touch grass.

Why do they need this person? Can't their AI do this job?

Am I supposed to feel sorry for a bootlicker who stayed behind to screw their colleagues?
Who is this lament for?

Pretty sure they found out ulcers are due to a bacteria that can now be treated and not due to spicy or acidic foods.

I understand, and don't have any of those tools to hand.
It sounds like this is not a watch for you.

Doesn't a little solvent and some gentle brushing usually clear this issue up?
The benefits for simple access through simple mechanisms, for me, is worth this bit of work.
But everyone clearly has different requirements. 🤷♂️

security parity is a password manager + 2fa generated on-device
This experience works perfectly for me. I have no need of whatever junk the latest consortium of megacorps has come up with.

You are ignoring people who have walked this path and are giving you the advice right now.
Public file hosting is not where you start.

I prefaced my response by saying it was a counterpoint.
🤷♂️
When searching for "winver" it will now show the "About this System" page in Plasma 6.6.
I will just offer this as evidence that Plasma seems targeted at a different user base than what I belong to. Others can decide for themselves what they're looking for.

Gonna give a quick counterpoint as someone who has used everything from Enlightenment WM to Windows 3.1, to Irix and who now uses GNOME:
I flipped over to Plasma the other day to see if I was missing out and I am not. Plasma felt unrefined and cluttered and seemed overly influenced by Windows. I switched back.
I will probably check it out again if they continue to make progress, but I, for one, prefer GNOME.

Sure, just know that this feedback is coming from people who have probably walked the same path and are trying to save you some pain. Best of luck, but I have found people like that are not engaging in good faith.

Ridiculously heavy glop of metal on one end of stick, ridiculously shaped razor sharp blade on the other is my choice!

This is better than the original movie and I have said so for years. I will fight on this hill.
- Comment on Marketing Doesn't Work on Nerds 2 months ago:
Seems to me the different between ethical and unethical marketing is the difference between trying to inform vs. influence your potential customer.
Products need a way to find customers, and customers need a way to find products - this is the problem marketing should be solving. Instead I see businesses hiring people trying everything but just informing customers.

this.

This was my first thought. Just zero code review going on? Some random server only that dude knew about? tf kind of controls these people have in place?
Oh right, none of the shit the company should have had.
Instead of jail time, the government should consider giving this guy whistleblower status and investigating the corp for negligence.
