- Comment on Some SQL queries to thanos snap communities 1 year ago:
somewhat, there's a "delete community" link on the community's page if you're a moderator or side admin
- Comment on Some SQL queries to thanos snap communities 1 year ago:
note that if the communities have any followers, it's preferable to use the API/UI to delete communities so that the deletion federates
- Comment on Feature Request: "Share" Feature To Get The Links Of External Posts 2 years ago:
good idea, tracking as https://todo.sr.ht/~vpzom/lotide/204
- Comment on What happens if I delete a community? 2 years ago:
currently pretty much nothing happens to them, they still exist just without a link to the community
- Comment on The Fediverse Has An r/Place via fedi.place 2 years ago:
if it's not federated then that seems hardly interesting
- Comment on The Fediverse's "Where The Heck Do I Go" Problem... 2 years ago:
Even if you don't require a login, you would still need to choose an instance, and at that point what benefit does an alternative frontend have over just going to the instance?
- Comment on Thoughts on the "Fediverse Quadrant"? 2 years ago:
seems pretty close to my perception
- Comment on How come Lotide mods don't sticky any posts in their communities? 2 years ago:
I mean it's possible but I'd rather do things the right way
(where "right" is mostly derived from consensus among other implementations where it exists, which it seems like it does in this case [though most don't allow pinning other users' posts so it still doesn't work])
- Comment on How come Lotide mods don't sticky any posts in their communities? 2 years ago:
I can't speak to other people's choices, but I imagine many communities don't really need sticky posts
Also worth noting that stickiness doesn't federate between lotide and lemmy because lemmy decided to do their own thing rather than match the established convention: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/1018
- Comment on Why does the navbar look like this? 2 years ago:
yeah there's not supposed to be an arrow there
what browser are you using?

- Comment on Test post from c.tide.tk 3 years ago:
Hoot is an alternative frontend for lotide, so any "Hoot instances" are actually lotide instances.
Still cool though
- Comment on Glitch: Mentions Of Communities Are Viewed As New Empty Posts 3 years ago:
If there was a link (which there is, it's just empty so there's nothing to click), it would go here: https://narwhal.city/posts/3703
Practically though, posts shouldn't have empty titles. See also https://todo.sr.ht/~vpzom/lotide/61
- Comment on Why can't we change the names in our profiles? 3 years ago:
I think the current situation is that it might confuse mastodon instances
For more discussion, see this post on SocialHub
- Comment on Unpopular opinion: Lotide and Lemmy should federate with each other 3 years ago:
I don't think that's unpopular, it's a goal eventually
Groups in ActivityPub are underspecified and I disagree with Lemmy's interpretation so far, since I don't think it makes sense for compatibility with non-group software
