There’s a service that gives you a dedicated Ukrainian number to receive texts at an email address for $15/year.
- Comment on Do phone number requirements for account sign-ups effectively deter/mitigate spam? 8 months ago:
Most email services require a phone number or other email service to sign up if there is anything fishy about your connection/browser (and there can be hundreds of things, even just some strange browser extension installed).
And there are services where you can buy a real temporary 4G/5G number (non-VoIP) for a service for less than a dollar per use. But that does add up after a while if you’re making tens of hundreds of thousands of accounts.

What stuck out to me is cops were blocking it after you went through. Can you expand on this? Did they pull up after you and the other car entered or was it like they were already there and you somehow ‘drove past the car block without noticing’?
Often times stuff happens and just doesn’t make the news, nobody calls it in to them. And sometimes stuff is reported and they just don’t follow up on it or have interest. If it was something with the cities underground tunnel/piping network (especially likely if it was an in-ground tunnel) it could have been something going on in the entrance/exit to the tunnel system, or there could have been a severe gas/water/etc leak in that area.

I bet so. I have a couple similar strange stories and I’ve told them in multiple places but after the nth time retelling you just stick to the basic facts of what happened. No fluff.

Thanks I forgot I2P had email and all the extra stuff. Do they have inproxies and outproxies or do both sender and receiver have to use the i2p service?

Can someone answer this from the “I am a criminal, if it matters” side as well?
Let’s not be biased now.

Cabal… Kabbalah… It’s the root word. “Jews secretly run the world” etc. That’s usually how it’s used today.

Ever notice how no schools have any emotional intelligence lessons whatsoever?
I don’t remember it being a thing when I was a kid but both my kids have had classes that teach these things.
I also remember I was having issues with a kid in school and the school counselor sat us down and talked to us about anger and emotions, etc. I think we had a short daily session for a few weeks. This was in the 90s.

Yeah that’s what it seems like. Almost gets pixelated and obscured, like using the pixelate tool in a photo editor.

Hard but not impossible. I’ve read reddit posts in my dreams back when I used to doomscroll. I remember the text being hard to read but readable sometimes, especially headlines.
- Comment on Sign up on services without phone number? Is it possible? 9 months ago:
You can get an eSIM pretty cheap, or buy individual activation phones from truverifi and similar sites. But it’s like $30/mo if you want a private number. Just to activate services it’s a dollar or two depending on the services.
Just make sure you remove it as a security code phone # after you create the account.

My mom can be like that sometimes, she’s always had bad memory lapses in the strangest of times. No drug or drink, and no sunflower seeds or nasty anti-burgular precautions, but once she called me in a nearly empty Walmart parking lot after close because she couldn’t find her car and thought someone had stolen it. She called me when I was about 5 minutes away saying she found it, it just wasn’t where she remembered parking it. In a nearly empty lot.
And I misread FIL as stepdad. That’s a much better life outcome for you 😆

What’s to stop someone driving cross-country or even just for a 1-off fill up and wearing a hat and glasses and covering their plates with cardboard and tape right before coming and going?

- Comment on How is it possible for this track to have so few plays on Spotify? 9 months ago:
No I’m sure they’re under NDA, but this specific example doesn’t seem like it would provide anyone trying to game the system any insight the numbers don’t already provide, unless it was something like “the real counts are zero, the numbers are inflated.”
IOW doesn’t seem like a big deal. But I can understand most Spotify devs not wanting to risk it.

To add the opposite of this, cats do cover up their feces in the wild very well, and housecats will in a litterbox too instinctually. To hide their scent so they don’t get eaten.
It’s all about needs. Humans became the top of the food chain and stopped needing as much, so we started doing other things. Also in the wild if there’s wind then there won’t be as much on things, dust really only starts to gather once walls are built (or in caves I suppose.)
