Meta: spreading misinformation is fine and good actually

i am generally a calm person in public until I’m triggered by a surveillance drone or police helicopter. I am only angry in public when i feel like I’m being watched. this will not bring out my best behavior. in fact it will do the opposite. i will scream and tear down everything in my vicinity if i feel i am being spied on.

I see no mention of ActivityPub in the article, but I’m wondering if this is part of their plan to eventually integrate Tumblr into the fediverse as well.
However I agree with others that this will likely result in hella janky hackable websites first…hopefully it smoothes out.

yup yup, i try to keep a clean, decluttered interface, and having all my browser stuff around the discord stuff is not a clean or enjoyable look. I’ll deal with it if it’s really the only way but I’ll try everything else first.

true, but I don’t wanna have to log in every time I use it (I have my browsers set to clear cookies and history on close). If it’s the only way I’ll take the inconvenience, but trying to keep the startup process smooth if I can.

- Comment on How do I block all meme communities on lemmy? 8 months ago:
omg you the real mvp
- Comment on How do I block all meme communities on lemmy? 8 months ago:
not memes for me but anime. there’s no way to block whole instances i don’t wanna see. if i don’t wanna see ani.social on my feed at all i have to block every community on the instance, which is just not possible.
memes though is gonna be hard for you because a lot of people use meme formats to communicate in any topic. the science side of lemmy memes about science stuff. the programmers meme about computer stuff. but that’s not all they do, there’s more than just memes, there’s actual discussion too. to completely get rid of memes and never see them on a lemmy feed again is gonna be an impossible task.

- Comment on 10 years ago, a person would be insulted for filming a video in portrait instead of landscape. Now, old landscape videos are being cropped and resized to fit in a portrait player. 8 months ago:
i still judge people who film in portrait tbh. I can’t stand vertical videos, it’s the main reason i never made a tiktok.

once the boomers get there and start liking it, that’s when you know it’s about to reach peak and crash hard. my parents are talking about reddit. case in point.

I believe kbin is updating the API, working on bug fixes and improvements and such, so the site is spotty right now. It said this would be happening for a few days, but that was a few days ago…
- Comment on Anyone else run into Feeder skipping around feed when saving/viewing articles? 11 months ago:
I’ve been using Feeder a couple months now and haven’t had any issues with it, but I’ve had it set to refresh feeds manually upon opening app since the beginning. What do you mean by skipping around?
