- Comment on United Nations wants to treat AI with same urgency as climate change 1 month ago:
Ugh, my issue is AI is a pandas box, we already opened it. Now it’s an argument of regulate technology and banning people from doing certain things on their own devices like running foss LLMs, like if we do that we can also allow bans of end to end encryption

The fate of Mozilla is sad, I know one day they will announce a move to chromium. It might be after a buyout but they will switch chromium and than die
- Comment on Cars Are Now Rolling Computers Now. So What Happens When They Stop Getting Updates? 3 months ago:
In general for me, I think mission critical systems breaks, engine etc should be physically isolated from the infotainment system. Infotainment systems should also prioritize using off the shelf hardware and running stuff like android, also prioritize android auto and apple car play, since these can be updated without automaker input for the most part.
- Comment on Microsoft points finger at the EU for not being able to lock down Windows 3 months ago:
My issue with that is Android is also pretty locked down and most certainly does have a monopoly, in general I think it’s just MS being stupid.
- Comment on Microsoft points finger at the EU for not being able to lock down Windows 3 months ago:
Blaming the EU is stupid MacOS is locked down, for the EU it’s more about apps less about the kernel space.
- Comment on Google just took down IPAs (Apple equivalent of APKs) of popular YouTube tweaks 8 months ago:
Newpipe’s fork?
I don’t think so cause unlike the tweaked youtube apps, new pipe just happens to just scrape the video off youtube which is publicly accessible

- Comment on U.S. lawmaker seeks answers from Meta, X, Google, TikTok over Israel-Hamas false content 1 year ago:
While I get misinformation sucks, I kinda dislike the stateization approach toward social media, I’m almost worried that if they found out about the fediverse they would make us get a special social media licence proving we are multi billion dollar company with a misinfo task force to run an instance. I feel like the centralization has honestly made misinformation way more possible.
