The pronouns are right there in his name. And he was obviously referring to Kamala’s promise to keep arming the genocidal zionist entity so it can continue its genocide against the Palestinian people.

He should on no account be allowed within 500m of a child, ever. If that means beaming him into space without a suit since the Voyager is only 343 meters long, so much the better.

Is this giving Neelix credit for being less creepy after Kes wasn’t there for him to creep on anymore?

Star Trek should absolutely be gatekept from conservatives.

It had exactly the opposite effect for me. I greatly disliked season 1 of Discovery but thought they wrapped it up well enough at the end of the season that they could move on. Georgiou showing back up in season 2 read to me as them having learned absolutely nothing and doubling down on the disaster rather than backpedaling from it.

It’s very good and only gets better as it goes on. Season 2 was fantastic.

Your wife has watched 3/4 of the good modern Trek series and should watch Prodigy. (and the TNG era Treks)

I like Strange New Worlds. Very much hoping they complicate the Gorn cliffhanger they left the last season off with though.

Discovery bringing Georgiou back in season 2 as a Section 31 agent felt to me like the show was doing this, and is what put me off that show specifically. I really like the majority of modern Trek shows, and even like 2 out of 3 of the Kelvin timeline movies.

The mirror universe section 31 stuff was THE reason I stopped watching Discovery. I disliked it in season 1 but thought it was wrapped up well enough at the end of the season. Then Georgiou showed back up in season 2 and I just completely gave up on the show.

Hopefully we’ll get more of these characters just not as lower deckers anymore.

I literally cannot imagine a less appealing Star Trek than this.

- Comment on Does Star Trek Need Starfleet? 1 year ago:
Absolutely. Star Trek writers are in no way immune to capitalist realism themselves, especially when they’re beholden to studio execs and budgets.
I didn’t make it more than a few episodes into Picard before giving up in disgust, and this only validates my choice there. It’s not just Picard though. Strange New Worlds is generally quite good, but the colony shown in the most recent episode was explicitly modeled on a mid 20th century American small town, a place Federation citizens should know better than to emulate.
Are there any novels or fanfics you’d recommend that do an actual good job of portraying a properly post scarcity Federation culture?

A Star Trek about civilians would have to be done extremely carefully to not ruin everything with gold plated latinum.

Those kids aren’t technically Starfleet officers (in season 1) but they’re very Starfleet.

T’Lyn is fitting in perfectly. The way she deadpanned “losing” her notes and then immediately explained her choice as a straightforward matter of ethics was fantastic.
