I use WireGuard to access my home services and for net-forwarding when I’m outside.
To set it up, I followed this simple guide.
Make sure to choose a proper DNS if you want net-forwarding to work. - Comment on Self Hosting an RSS feed for news/media/etc? 11 months ago:
FreshRSS has been working great for me!

Also, I’d like to point out that Overleaf’s hosting and pricing options are quite reasonable, especially if you’re working for a university or institution: www.overleaf.com/user/subscription/plans
While I did take advantage of Overleaf Pro during my university days since they offered it to us for free, I don’t have it anymore after graduating, and so I’m missing some features which their free tier doesn’t have.
By self-hosting I’m given better control, and all those features I once had before. Also, the whole point of this community is to kind of avoid avoid relying on third-party hosting🙂

I checked the volumes that I included in the compose file, and looked for either a
texlive
,tlmgr
or apackage
folder and didn’t find anything. I think it’s safe to assume that you would need to reinstall the packages if you recreated the containers. This is a problem that I didn’t consider. I will try to make an update to my compose file that will keep the packages persistent.

There’s some tinkering with their
docker-compose.yml
to make it work. Here’s mine you can copy if you want to get it up and running. Some of my documents relied on certain packages which don’t come with Docker image. You will need to run
docker exec sharelatex-sharelatex-1 tlmgr install scheme-full
so that you can render your documents properly if they utilize certain packages. - Comment on Google’s best Gemini AI demo video was fabricated 11 months ago:
Throwback to Microsoft’s pre-Kinect project dubbed Xbox ‘Natal’ way back in the day.
Being younger, I—along with many—really that was the close future of gaming. Of course looking in hindsight, of course it was all fabricated.
I’m not surprised at Google’s Gemini either. The way that which the whole demo video was narrated and played out made it seem too linear, too perfect. - Comment on What is the good alternative right now to Google translate? 1 year ago:
Translate You features LibreTranslate, Lingva, DeepL, MyMemory, Reverso, and SimplyTranslate.
While I can’t speak for any of them, I think that all of those should be safe being that Translate You is FOSS - Comment on Does someone have this meme? 1 year ago:
