The NGage even used literal SD cards.

What? VHS is perfectly fine. I don’t even have a color TV
This is how you sound BTW. 4k or even 1080p is objectively better than DVDs’ 480p. There is no reason to still use them other than cost or being a contrarian.
- Comment on Microsoft claims "2026 is the moment" for AI PCs, but its essay-length beginner explanation only creates more confusion — Is it any wonder adoption is slow? 6 days ago:
No hard drive and no GPU is trivial.
No RAM is harder, but I guess it’s possible if you use an SSD or magnetic tapes as memory (albeit extremely slow).

Android TV is absolute garbage. It’s horrible to use with a remote, is full of ads, and is somehow sluggish on a 1.5GHz quad core.

I have a fun story about this.
I once purchased buldak at my local supermarket, not knowing what it was. I thought they were regular instant noodles.
They were actually painful. I had to drink an entire glass of water between every mouthful. I eventually gave up.
A few days after, I randomly stumbled upon a news article about the exact same product that I bought being recalled in Denmark (I live in France) because it caused abdominal pains and vomiting.

Same as GOG.

No you don’t. Their ToS are very explicit about this. You’re buying licenses, just like on Steam.

The outermost spot is easier to reach with the thumbs. The most used elements of the controller are face buttons and the left stick. Having the left stick in the “secondary” position makes no sense.
- Comment on Our first look at the Steam Machine, Valve’s ambitious new game console 3 months ago:
Exactly. Sony insists on having symmetrical sticks, even though Xbox figured out asymmetric was better back in 2001. Every third party controller has asymmetric switches. Even Nintendo Pro controllers do. Why did Valve choose the objectively worse solution?
- Comment on Our first look at the Steam Machine, Valve’s ambitious new game console 3 months ago:
It’s insane. Seemingly everyone but Sony figured out decades ago it’s a terrible idea, and Valve does it anyway.
At least it has concave sticks, which weren’t on PlayStation until 2013.
- Comment on Every single time I think of restructuring my homelab storage. What do you use for storage engines and how does it benefit you? 3 months ago:
Agreed. RAID is useless. Your drives will never fail before you’d want to replace them with larger ones anyway.

FYI: unless you have a very specific model of CD drive, your PS1 backups aren’t perfect copies. They will work but the copy protection might not have been read properly. It’s not important in 99.9% of use cases. If you need a perfect copy, download NoIntro dumps.

- Comment on Are there any good 3D Nintendo FAN made games? 4 months ago:
Because Pokémon fell down hard after Gen 5, and has a lot of unrealized potential. It could be great if Nintendo actually cared about delivering a good product.
inb4 “akchually Pokémon games are developed by Game Freaks”
Nintendo has the power to tell them to fuck off if their games continue being worse and worse every year, but don’t.
