Makes sense I didn’t get the job, I only vaguely know the difference and it was mostly theoretical stuff like CI/CD, but those recruiters really wanted to throw me at random interviews to see if I’d stick :D

What makes DevOps so different from sysadmin? Recruiters always told me it’s the same, but I never got the job, so idk.

yes, but it’s a body that has existed for more than 300 years, there must be some way to get an impression on it through the times :)

I’d like to have an idea of the history of MP pay in terms of the average salary to understand if this is a new thing, if they have always had side businesses and claimed “favours” later or if there is an actual decline in the status of “civic duty”.

You can’t just analyse the data too, you have to write a kickass paper, design an appealing poster and present it like it’s the best thing ever :)

And that was only because they had to beat the nazis and afterwards prove that capitalism wasn’t worse for common folk than communism. Now that there is no bogeyman, we’re left with TINA, so they can go back to screwing everyone over.
- Comment on This week’s dead Google products: Google Podcasts, basic Gmail, and more! 1 year ago:
Stupid question: why doesn’t Google release the codebases of killed projects on some OS license so that people who want to keep using and maintaining them have a chance to?
- Comment on Desalination system could produce freshwater that is cheaper than tap water 1 year ago:
True…otherwise it’s reverse hydro, which could be done with surplus renewables at peak times, but not at more than 10km… This is mostly aimed at coastal communities (and sustainable floating villages 😁)
- Comment on Desalination system could produce freshwater that is cheaper than tap water 1 year ago:
I don’t think desalination is the solution.
Solution to what?
Literally all rainwater comes from solar-powered desalination. There is nothing better than that.

If this works, it’s better than anything we have , which costs grid energy and dumps brine all the same. If anything, the smaller scale makes it easier to distribute the brine dumping.

Has metamorphosis physiology been studied in detail with CT scans, electrodes? It sounds like one of those weird things that could really impact biology if understood in depth for things like regeneration…but maybe it’s too far to be useful to humans :/

But are they all dinossaur paper-based lawyers or just very focused on specific issues so they miss the bigger picture or are they actually advised by expert panels but meetings take too long…or nobody cares…or everyone is compromised by other interests…what?
