Here’s the thing: doing something does not always work, but doing nothing never does.
In the provided screenshot, the devs themselves explain that asking for refunds and leaving bad reviews is what gives them enough pull to even have the discussion with sony.Of course you don’t have to do anything, but you really don’t accomplish anything by bothering the people who actually try to find ways to make the situation better.

Seriously, you’re still on that hill?
They hurt no one with their comment licensing, why do you feel the need to bother them and add to the harassment while adding nothing to the original discussion ? - Comment on The retro Nokia phone everyone owned 25 years ago will get a reboot soon – and yes, it has Snake 1 month ago:

About anticheat: it depends which games you’re playing. If they use Valve’s EasyAnti Cheat you should have no problem (been playing dota2, cs2, csgo… without trouble for some time now). If they use
malwarekernel-level anticheat (iirc helldivers 2, valorant, league of legends) you won’t be able to run them in linux and should keep a windows dual boot. - Comment on Windows 10 reaches 70% market share as Windows 11 keeps declining 1 month ago:
CS2 linux version has some issues. Sometimes forcing steam to install the windows version and to run it via proton makes things better.

- Comment on Discord Shuts Down ‘Spy Pet’ Bots That Scraped, Sold User Messages 2 months ago:
Why are you so intent on giving them s**t about their licensing of their comments?
They cause harm to no one, they feel better because doing so is relevant to them.I might be wrong, but your question seems asked in bad faith: I am under tbe impression that most people on lemmy servers have at least a basic understanding of the privacy and copyright infringements of the training of AI models.
Their will to license their comment probably has little to do with the very unlikely individual actions you describe and more to do with data licensing from big corporate entities.

you’re projecting your own thought processes onto something that has the brain capacity of a plywood door
Well, research begs to differ. Although I couldn’t find anything on the brain capacity of plywood doors, sheeps and cows definitely have some form of conscience and the ability to feel emotions and pain.
A litterature review conducted and published by Lori Marino and Kristin Allen (The psychology of cows, 2017) concludes that cows:- are able to make sophisticated discriminations among not only objects but humans
- possess not just simple emotions but several emotional capacities, such as cognitive judgement bias and emotional contagion
- show an apparent emotionnal reaction to learning which may reflect a sense of self-agency similar to other mammals
- have distinct personalities
- exhibit several dimensions of social complexity, including social learning
Do you know how much a fucking cow is worth? 😂 Farmers are the tightest gits on earth, they’re not out there torturing their profits mate
Idk how much it’s worth, but I guess it’s a lot. I also know how financially difficult the situation of small-estate farmers is (several commit suicide every month in my country).
I got a question for you: do you know how much milk a cow would produce for its farmer if it wasn’t repeatedly impregnated and separated from its offspring ? The answer is much less than its current worth.
I don’t believe that most farmers voluntarily hurt their animals and enjoy it. But in my experience, most of them come from a culture in which the intelligence and emotions of cattle is being negated and we collectively make sure it stays this way because we don’t want to face the incredible amount of suffering we inflict on hundreds of millions of sentient beings every year.If you Google “Un agriculteur accusé de maltraitance animale” you’ll find a lot of articles, which means that the laws against the abuse are working
If you Google “L214 videos” you’ll see a lot of horrific things happening in farms and In slaughterhouses which are still in operation without any additional oversight. There are laws, and sure some stuff is illegal and frowned upon, but it’s leagues away from preventing cattle abuse.
I’m from rural France btw, and I’ve lived where we produce this “cultural delicacy” called foie-gras, which is still very legal and celebrated as fuck.

- Comment on French couple who kept 159 cats banned from keeping pets 2 months ago:
Wow, this escalated towards cannibalism quickly.
The original comment stated that France has good laws against animal abuse. That’s very partially true: a few animals have a priviledged status (cats and dogs for exemple) and are somewhat protected against abuse while others are abused, tortured and killed everyday without any kind of protection.
I’m not commenting for any cause here, just pointing out stuff we collectively overlook.
I don’t think we should pat ourselves on the shoulder saying “wow we’re so good at fighting animal abuse” while our food habits rely on unnecessary mass cruelty.
And yes, it’s uncomfortable to look at - that’s why we’re used to ignoring it - but pretending it’s not real does not change the facts. - Comment on French couple who kept 159 cats banned from keeping pets 2 months ago:
It’s not like we daily torture and kill animals to eat meat, eggs and dairy. But sure, cats are cute so we protect them.

As they are a small studio, they did not have the money to buy all dnd licensed content upfront (Wizard if the Coast makes it quite expensive). When the game was a success, they added dlcs for additional races/classes they could now afford.
Lost Valley and Palace of Ice add new campaigns (they are ok but I enjoyed the base campaign more). If having all the races and classes from official dnd content matters to you, I would recommend the Unfinished Business mod (you can find it on nexusmods). Personnally I played the first campaign with the limited options from the base game and I still had a real blast :)

Dunno if it’s on sale, but Solasta Crown of the Magister is a great dnd game made by a small studio. It’s much shorter, but imo the general mechanics are really good and the use of height in combat is better than in bg3.

The good news is, it’s easy to try and see for yourself ;)
Head over to an easy distro (like Linux Mint or Ubuntu for example) and create a live USB. Boot your computer on that USB, try the live environment.
You’ll see if your hardware works as expected. If it does, you’re golden, you can proceed to install and have zero problem down the road.
If it doesn’t, and you don’t feel like troubleshooting to make it work, you can just remove the USB stick, reboot your computer and continue using Windows.
Mileage varies a lot while using Linux. It’s really great these days, but there are always some edge cases. I use Linux on my gaming desktop, and it crashes often because part of my pleasure is trying out stuff, breaking my install and do it all over again.
I also use Linux on my work laptop, and it has not crashed once in 4 years.
I wanted to install Linux on my SO’s laptop because they liked the idea. I tried the live environment, never managed to get the wifi card to work, gave up, and they still use windows. When the laptop dies, the replacement will probably be a refurbished thinkpad where everything usually works out of the box.All in all, it’s always been worth it to me: my laptop is faster and more stable than those of my colleagues, I don’t have to deal with Microsoft’s bullshit, I don’t come late to meetings because my computer was updating…
My gaming desktop is my fun machine, I’ve learned a lot on it and when I just want to game I roll back to a stable snapshot. Also, don’t underestimate the representation issues. I think that people who have trouble with a Linux install have the reflex to ask online on Lemmy, Reddit or forums, while people who have trouble with their Windows install just live with it or bring it back to the shop.
