Can you explain that one then because I’m really not seeing what you’re saying.

Yeah you must be right with that pricing page. I think it’s also unclear what is offered in terms of VPN when you actually try to purchase the Mail plus plan. At any rate, lots of ways for people to be confused about what plan includes what.
- Comment on Proton is transitioning towards a non-profit structure | Proton 3 months ago:
Yo I see you on your link that you are right. I stand corrected. Maybe. This link says something different and so I’m not actually sure what’s correct. Let me know what you think. It seems like there’s some conflicting information
- Comment on Proton is transitioning towards a non-profit structure | Proton 3 months ago:
I don’t think this plan supports P2P. You’re still on the free plan with the VPN

Maybe if you’re in a big city, or maybe Europe. I recently moved back to the US from Asia and found OSM data to be really bad in the small city that I come from.
- Comment on Netflix Starts Booting Subscribers Off Cheapest Basic Ads-Free Plan 4 months ago:
Yeah I regrettably* bought a year’s subscription to Peacock and was pleasantly surprised that my PiHole just blocked all the ads.
*This was when they were offering a year for 20 USD. They had advertised world cup streaming but neglected to mention that all the commentary was in Spanish with no English option. I ended up just streaming a Swiss TV channel because it was at least in a language I can understand.
- Comment on US lawmakers vote 50-0 to force sale of TikTok despite angry calls from users 8 months ago:
When I was a kid and Facebook was new, I remember everyone wanting an account. The way I see it, Facebook just kept those users who wanted it when it was new. Who’s to say that the same won’t be true of TikTok later?
- Comment on Tesla Sold Only One Car in Korea in January 9 months ago:
And I see a lot of them driving around too! But the impression that I get from Koreans is that the idea of Tesla and especially Elon Musk really appeals to them. In my anecdotal experience, people idolize Musk here. In my own conception of things, it makes sense given the control that companies like Samsung have over the population here. It’s so natural to be under the rule of companies that when words like “world’s richest man” get thrown around, people can’t help but throw themselves at him
- Comment on Tesla Sold Only One Car in Korea in January 9 months ago:
Koreans love foreign brands and consume the most luxury brands per capita in the world. These luxury brands are more important here as status symbols than anywhere else I’ve lived. I’m surprised by this stat because I work in a very wealthy part of Seoul and see many many teslas each day. It’s honestly baffling how many teslas I see. But I’m with you: why not buy local? Why buy a Tesla at all?
- Comment on Report: Apple is testing foldable iPhones, having the same problems as everyone else 9 months ago:

Just peeking at the list and saw a QR code scanner with the note, “My personal QR code scanner because Android still don’t do that in their native camera…”
Does it really not? I have a Google pixel 6 and the camera provides a clickable link when a QR code is in the frame. Is that maybe a firefox thing? Idk I thought it was the camera app

- Comment on Wi-Fi 7 Signals the Industry’s New Priority: Stability 10 months ago:
Yeah this was a big change for my parents who always complained about slow wifi speeds. I spent a summer wiring the walls with cat6 and plugged everything I could directly into a big switch I got for them. Printers, desktops, start tvs, the lot. Then I set them up with multiple access points and voilà, the wifi is suddenly fast again without upgrading their plan

Most likely with the language the monkey’s paw would be that you can’t speak any other language. I imagine you’d also be unable to learn any other language again. At any rate, linguists would still celebrate and you’d just have to make friends with people who want to learn that language for some professional, academic reason

Venmo is an app used to send cash with a little note to describe what it’s for. It’s owned by PayPal. When someone asks for someone else’s Venmo, it normally means they want to send cash. The person with $1 remaining must have given their Venmo info out hoping to get some help, but instead the person who asked for it requested their last dollar.
That’s an explanation of what is happening here. I can’t tell you why it’s funny as requested, but that’s because it’s really not that funny
