- Comment on New Footage Shows Tesla On Autopilot Crashing Into Police Car After Alerting Driver 150 Times 1 year ago:
No, autopilot does not allow for a driver to completely disengage their attention. That’s what they want to get to but that’s not where we are. You still have to drive the car, you still have to be in control.
I hope Tesla wins this one. We need to set a precedent for this, you can’t be out here driving high, drunk or any type of impairment and just assume you can get around that by your cars technology.
Granted I agree that the car should slow down, put hazards on and pull you off if you don’t respond by a certain timeframe. There are a few brands that do that and it should be standard.

It would be nice if more news stories picked this up. We do not need giant vehicles. These companies are only doing it to skirt regulations. We aren’t actively picking up giant vehicles to buy it’s all that’s being made. It’s manufactured preference.
I just want a hatchback or a sedan. I have no need for enough space to carry 8 people in my car and I bet a lot of other folk don’t either.
