- Comment on Balatro - Friends of Jimbo (Pack 2) | Reveal Trailer 4 weeks ago:
I just set the track pad to be like a mouse and the R1 and R2 to be left and right click and it’s the best way to play it imo.
- Comment on Expedition 33 Dev Confirms $50 Price Is Correct, '30+ Hours of Main Game' 5 weeks ago:
Games have been around 60 dollars for over 39 years now. Not sure what you’re on about. If they had gone up 10 bucks with each console generation they would be like 150 at this point.
- Comment on 'Global Oligarchy' Reigns as Top 1% Controls More Wealth Than Bottom 95% of Humanity 1 month ago:
Except we’re not and you’re just wrong.
- Comment on Avowed Runs at 30fps on Xbox Series X and S, Obsidian Confirms 2 months ago:
If your comp is good enough absolutely. Strong PCs now can run sub 5ms frame times at 4k pretty regularly. Especially for competitive games that aren’t designed to look incredible.
- Comment on perspective 3 months ago:
I highly suggest you look up PBS spacetime on YouTube. They have an incredible amount of very informative videos on black holes and gravitational waves. As well as pretty much any other astrophysics topic you can think of (and many you can’t!)
- Comment on Get AMS 3 months ago:
I love mine specifically for hueforge prints. If you do models that have very few color switches and they are all by layer it doesn’t really waste any extra filament than you would by swapping manually.
- Comment on With the prison sentences for activists who threw soup on "sunflowers", our society has affirmed that an illustration of nature is something we value. 3 months ago:
It’s because it’s one of the most effective ways to get a news story about your protest without actually hurting anyone. I say all the more power to them. It’s not like we don’t have hi res scans of all these works of art. At this point the people that will have to pay for it are the rich people who own the artwork.
- Comment on Steam Is Run By Fewer Than 80 Staff, Lawsuit Docs Reveal 4 months ago:
I don’t believe them for a second. When you have that much money you could just hire people to vet charities for you.
- Comment on Apple Rumored to Be Working on AirPods With Built-in Cameras 4 months ago:
I suppose they really wanna use all that R&D that they did on gesture tracking with the vision somewhere.
- Comment on Have you ever had a phone call interrupted by a 3rd party voice saying "this call is being recorded"? 4 months ago:
Lol that’s not how that works at all. How do you know they aren’t in a 2 party consent state? Why would they assume you are going to be recording the calls? I sure don’t assume that when I am calling anyone.
- Comment on Larian Studios has two major games in development and opens new studio in Warsaw 5 months ago:
It is competition for experienced devs, and from everything I’ve heard about working at Larian and CDPR I would MUCH rather work for Larian.
- Comment on Netris is an open-source cloud gaming platform with Stadia-like features using Proton 5 months ago:
Don’t Nvidia cards natively support this through gamestream? I don’t know if Amd has something similar or not but you can already easily set up something like this to stream to a steam deck
- Comment on Helldivers 2 now delisted in 177 countries 6 months ago:
Did they say it is specifically Sony that delisted it in those countries? Where did they say that?
- Comment on Helldivers 2 community manager says internal discussions are ongoing regarding mandatory PSN account link 6 months ago:
I’m guessing it’s them talking with Sony. Sony is the one requiring this, I’m sure the devs hate being forced to destroy the good will of the community.
- Comment on Disturbing increase in violence at school as principals say both parents and students are making threats 8 months ago:
You think you look tough but everyone just views you as a child.
- Comment on What can we do when something is too vast to provide representative examples for? 8 months ago:
Well I can tell you that you’re debating on vain then. You’re never gonna convince an atheist until you have solid evidence of a higher power. And trust me, you don’t.
- Comment on Star Citizen's first-person shooting is getting backpack-reloading, dynamic crosshairs, procedural recoil, and other improvements to 'bring the FPS combat to AAA standard' 8 months ago:
Just because the product they are making is quality does not mean it isn’t a scam. The game was supposed to be released a decade ago now. They said they had the entire single player finished and ready in 2014. The things they have made are impressive, sure. But after that amount of time its looking more and more like they lied about how ready things were to get more funding, and have been doing that for a decade now.
- Comment on Desperate TikTok lobbying effort backfires on Capitol Hill 8 months ago:
I definitely see issues with how it targets young people so aggressively and can have a huge negative impact on their mental health. China can essentially use it as a tool to lower the mental health of our youth and spread misinformation on purpose. The fact that the version available in China emphasizes educational content and limits usage per day shows that they know exactly what they are doing with the international versions.
- Comment on Helldivers II Review Thread 8 months ago:
Mechs are not currently in the game but should be releasing soon.
- Comment on ‘It went nuts’: Thousands join UK parents calling for smartphone-free childhood 9 months ago:
That should be no surprise. They have been designed to be purposefully addictive.
- Comment on MSI CLAW gaming handheld leaked, features Intel Core Ultra 7 155H with Arc graphics and 32GB memory 10 months ago:
That’s not a great reason to choose their hardware though. You can use that with any other brand of hardware with no issue.
- Comment on Baldur's Gate 3 has won Steam's 2023 GOTY Award 10 months ago:
Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if most people chose it as a joke.
- Comment on Copy, Acquire, Kill— How Meta could pull off the most extraordinary pivot in tech history 10 months ago:
No but I don’t care about seeing them on social media. I don’t desire that at all, if I am gonna keep in touch with someone it will be in person or through direct messages.
- Comment on Nvidia CEO Foresees AI Competing with Human Intelligence in Five Years 10 months ago:
You can’t deny the amount of crazy progress in machine learning in the past 3 years. The hype is pretty understandable, far more than crypto ever was.
- Comment on Steam Winter Sale is coming(Today), along with voting in the Steam Awards 11 months ago:
Do it. Mods can really enhance the game, adding new classes and mechanics.

Especially with a lot of new EVs on the road that use regenerative breaking if your foot is off the gas.
- Comment on Notepad on Windows 11 is finally getting a character count 11 months ago:
I doubt Microsoft even thinks about Linux as a competitor in the consumer space. People on Lemmy are seriously delusional about how many people use or even know about Linux.
- Comment on Light-Speed Spaceships Would Have Trouble Phoning Home 11 months ago:
Nope. Because you don’t know when it will collapse,. Imagine you have 2 balls, a red and a blue. They are both put in boxes and each ship takes 1 box. After you travel a long distance you open your box. You have just collapsed the “superposition” of what color the balls were. You now know what color both balls are, but you don’t know if the other person has looked in their box yet.
I think a lot of people get confused by the term “observe” when talking about collapsing quantum uncertainty. Observing requires a photon to interact with the particle which is what caused it to “choose” what state it is in.
- Comment on Light-Speed Spaceships Would Have Trouble Phoning Home 11 months ago:
No, measuring one particle collapses the entanglement and they no longer affect each other. It is a one time thing. You can’t modify them after they have been observed.
- Comment on Light-Speed Spaceships Would Have Trouble Phoning Home 11 months ago:
C is more than just the speed of light. It is the speed of Causality. No information can travel faster than C in a vacuum. Gravitational waves already reach us faster than the light from events that cause them (i.e. neutron star collisions) Because small particles slow down the light over long distances, as they absorb and then re-emit the photons.
