Why would any company sell batteries that need to be replaced less often? Companies are greedy as fuck and don’t care about consumers. It’s all about their bottom line. And if you’re not buying enough, often enough, than companies hate you.

So don’t accept them. Force Amazon to full create their own full-fledged shipping company, like UPS or FedEx. I’m not talking last mile delivery but full fledged end-to-end delivery. I like the idea of devoting huge portions of urban streets to outdoor markets on the weekends. I don’t live in Australia, but the sentiment is the same. I think metropolitan areas can take some of their most congested blocks and shut them down to vehicles for 2 days a week and open the street to push-cart vendors and pedestrians only.

I took a 10 hour flight to fly 3 hours. Thinking that flight attendants aren’t paid while not in the air is unbelievable. Once the boarding process starts, so should the pay clock.

I completely agree with you on this. You mentioned early in your post that the ability to block instances is coming soon. As a Lemmy user that came over during the Redd-exit, there was a lot of “noise” on the All feed that has taken me some time to sift through and cater to my personal preference.
It’s for this reason why I too am, currently, against defederation. If there’s a community I don’t want to hear from, I block them. If there’s a user I don’t want to hear from, I block them. In the near future, when there are instances I don’t want to hear from, I will block them too.
While I might not want to hear from some people, their right to exist within the Fediverse should not be questioned, unless they break the rules. In which case, the user is banned/post locked or removed and we carry on living our lives.
