- Comment on I don't want to call Twitter X out of spite, but calling the travesty that is X Twitter is an insult to the people that made Twitter what it was. 1 month ago:
Hey, don’t rewrite history - twitter was always notoriously bad, under Elon it surely got even worse though.
- Comment on Old School Runescape is raising membership prices 2 months ago:
Oh yeah, ty for correction.
- Comment on Old School Runescape is raising membership prices 2 months ago:
Yeah, it’s a real sore spot for the community too - people often have 2 or more accounts due to various account types like mains who have no restrictions, ironmen who can’t trade and gotta get everything themselves, group ironmen which is ironman but co-op in a 5 person group and other modes that add additional limitations.
- Comment on Old School Runescape is raising membership prices 2 months ago:
Not anymore, they’re killing grandfather rates with this update

You still pay for membership separately tho
- Comment on Grok do a good 2 months ago:
Didn’t Musk unironically have a burner twitter account where he would pretend to be a 3 year old child? Grok might be onto something here
- Comment on Susan Wojcicki, Former Chief of YouTube, Dies at 56 3 months ago:
RIP. Even though she got a lot of shit from the youtube community, at least she was a bit better than what youtube currently has.

- Comment on Vanguard takes screenshots of your PC every time you play a game 6 months ago:
I’ve tried to see if this is real but I fail to find any source code leaks for Vanguard or if it has ever been leaked. The poster himself also doesn’t seem that credible unless your definition of credible is “THE TERROR OF RIOT GAMES”.
Am I missing something or is this post likely just bullshit?

- Comment on Google Search is losing its 'cached' web page feature 9 months ago:
Seeing many comments here shitting on this decision by google, is this really that big of a deal? I’ve personally never used the cached feature of Google and if I ever needed to see a page that is currently down, it’d be via wayback machine. If nobody used the feature, why have it waste a ton worth of storage space? Feel free to prove me wrong though.
- Comment on Games that force you to make hard choices 10 months ago:
Pathologic 2 - it’s a really stressful game, but I think it’d be perfect for the criteria. The choices matter aspect are intertwined in both how you spend your time (it’s limited and you can’t be everywhere at once), and in quests (the more traditional choices, like pick A or B or C). Don’t want to spoil any more but it’s amazing, you don’t need to play the original.
Besides it, I’ve also heard good things from Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, though I haven’t played it personally.

If any of you want diamond jewelry, be it rings or necklaces or whatever, look up synthetic diamonds. Far cheaper and result is often the same if not better, as its made in controlled environment.
- Comment on How have you personally found the Lemmy community compared to its competition and other social media? 10 months ago:
I didn’t use reddit that much before switching to lemmy (only browsing a couple of niche subreddits that I liked), but in general I do like people here a bit more. At least in my experience, I saw more people here willing to have discussions when compared to reddit, which is something I do enjoy from time to time.
That being said, I must agree with a lot of commenters in this thread - there is a lot of propaganda on this platform and that’s a part of lemmy that I have the biggest gripes with.
- Comment on Do you actually own anything digital? 10 months ago:
No, and once I became aware of the fact realized that I was kinda screwed when it came to video games.
Every single video game I have purchased is on Steam, and considering its DRM and licence business model, I had multiple conversations with my friends who also had the same worry and wondered what would happen if Steam shut down one day. Valve did state that they’ll remove the DRM if the platform shut down, but there’s no way of knowing the future as million things can happen and for all we know, they might change their minds or not be in a position to remove the DRM once the time came.

There’s this saying about how if something is punishable by a fine, then it’s only illegal for poor people.
I don’t even have to finish this do I

- Comment on Could X go bankrupt under Elon Musk? 11 months ago:
His money could be used to fix so many issues en masse. It’s disgusting that he chooses not to do so every day.
Pretty sure he posted on twitter a couple years ago about how if someone credible provided a plan to solve world hunger for 6 billion dollars, he would sell Tesla stock and just do it, to which the UN responded with a detailed plan. However, Musk pretty much ignored them, no acknowledgment (as far as I know) and no money donated.
Using the money to fix issues in the world and making it a better place is not a part of his politics.
- Comment on Could X go bankrupt under Elon Musk? 11 months ago:
Pretty sure it’s an inevitability at this point and Musk knows it, which is precisely why he’s fueling the flames of the whole ad situation. Since the whole controversy are both about the Jews (as in antisemitism) and advertisers, they can be blamed for the death of the platform instead of business decisions by Musk.
There’s also the possibility that some right-wing billionaires who really love to spread their propaganda using twitter are going to buy the company or bail it out or whatever, but that remains to be seen
- Comment on Gamers enraged at Ubisoft for injecting ads into the middle of video games 11 months ago:
The death of the sun will arrive before gamers actually do a boycott that is successful, because boycotts (especially for popular franchises or products) don’t work. If you rally up 10,000 people for a boycott, it’s less than 1% of sales AAA studios get and 70% of the boycotters are still going to buy the game regardless.
No change is going to happen ever, so the best thing to do is to start ignoring the AAA gaming industry altogether on a personal level.
- Comment on What is going to happen when people realize climate change is rolling in? 1 year ago:
Probably a lot of people are going to be like “why didn’t anyone do anything about this???”, completely forgetting that’s happening right now, with likely the same people being climate deniers.
- Comment on If you could play one game for the first time all over again, what would it be? 1 year ago:
Probably Pathologic 2, assuming I’d retain my fondness towards it.
On my way to completing my first playthrough, I had to spend at least 2 months warming up to the game and actually going through the first hour, after which it was absolutely amazing. I’m still replaying it once a year due to how much I love it.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 year ago:
It’s natural - reddit does something bad, people look for an alternative, join up then start losing interest either after a while either due to toxicity, seeing content they don’t like, not having reddit features they used, or the low amount of content and start migrating back.
The user count will probably not stop dropping anytime soon, unless reddit does something again and blackout 2.0 happens.
- Comment on According to Elon Musk’s own math, the company formerly known as Twitter has lost 90% of its value and could be worth just $4 billion 1 year ago:
Wasn’t twitter worth way, way less than musk paid for the company’s acquisition (like 2x or more)? If so, the 4 billion evaluation is still probably much higher than what most people were anticipating the company would be worth under musk in 1-2 years after acquisition. Great job elon, exceeding expectations yet again.
- Comment on What game has a great story and is worth the time investment? 1 year ago:
Disco Elysium definitely, as it’s probably one of if not the best written games available right now.
If you want something with more gameplay, you should definitely take a look at Pathologic 2. New content will be released relatively soon for it too (as in a different playable character and story), so it’s probably a good time to give it a shot.

Nice bait Mr Business Man
- Comment on I'm looking for games with unique or experimental game design 1 year ago:
If you’re looking for “games as art”, I have 3 recommendations:
-
Yume Nikki. It’s a classic RPGMaker horror game, which has inspired many Fan Games and even some more modern games, such as Undertale. Definitely at least give it a try and explore a little bit - the game play is minimal but it’s quite an atmospheric experience.
-
Disco Elysium. It’s more of a very interactive book than a game, but the writing is just phenomenal. In the game you have 24 skills as your personality traits, and depending which ones you level up, they often come and chime in during conversations, giving funny remarks or advice - I love it.
-
Pathologic 2. Can’t really get into its special mechanics without spoilers, but it’s such a gem of a game. I love it.
