- Comment on Why is Valve being sued for almost $900 million, but Epic Games wasn't sued when they bought Rocket League and Fall Guys to remove them from steam? 5 days ago:
Valve is being sued because they are forcing others to follow policies that further entrenches Steam as the largest store.
Since Epic bought the game developer, it only applies to themselves. It is much harder to sue someone over a decision that only applies to something they own. How can a company be sued for not selling their product at a store? Should Valve be sued for not selling their own games on Epic or GOG?
Is Epic’s decision to only sell their games on their store annoying for users? Yes. But unfortunately, there is nothing illegal about. There would be a better chance of a lawsuit of Epic paying other game developers for exclusivity, but that would still not be easy as game exclusivity is still a significant factor on game consoles as well. Albeit much less than in the past.

- Comment on Sony AI patent will see PlayStation games play themselves when players are stuck 4 weeks ago:
Unpopular opinion: I like this idea. I like games that are essentially interactive stories with an open world to explore. I don’t want to be challenged when playing games, but even on the easiest difficulty level, I occasionally hit a challenge that results in me abandoning the game altogether.
AI is not necessary for this though. The Persona games handle this well where the player does not need to restart from the last save when they die. They get an option that fully heals them and they can keep going.

I love the design of this much more than the Time 2 and appreciate how easy they made it to switch my order.

It’s not just iPhone anymore. Pixel 10 removed the SIM card as well.

I wish they still included a SIM card slot.

I have had positive experiences with both Radicale and Baikal. I am not sure about the Home Assistant integration, but they both use CalDAV, so I would be surprised if there wasn’t a way of connecting them. iOS has native support for CalDAV, but Android needs the davx5 app (free on F-Droid).

- Comment on The Switch 2: Is it worth buying? 7 months ago:
But the Switch was a unique form-factor at the time that did not have direct competition for most of its life. Nintendo essentially created the hybrid handheld console segment. As previously mentioned, there is much more competition this time around, including the much cheaper original Switch.
- Comment on What are the benefits of a server having multiple public IP addresses? 8 months ago:
I just run some simple services such as Audiobookshelf or Wallabag behind a reverse proxy. After reading the other comments, it does not look like there would be any benefit for my use case.
- Comment on What are the benefits of a server having multiple public IP addresses? 8 months ago:
Yes, I have always used a reverse proxy which seems to eliminate the need for multiple IP addresses. It seems like having multiple IP addresses just creates additional cost and complexity, but I have seen many VPS providers offer multiple IP addresses, so I was curious if there was a use case that I was not aware of.

They do, but apps can integrate their content with the TV app without subscriptions being controlled by Apple as well.

- Comment on Sonos Plans to Launch Apple TV-Like Streaming Box 11 months ago:
I remember reading this article a couple months ago. Here is a quote:
This operating system is supposedly built around ads; we know how that sounds, but advertising is also prevalent in other TV software platforms including webOS and Fire TV OS. The Trade Desk emphasises a user experience that delivers “better cross-platform content discovery, personalization, subscription management, and potentially fewer (more relevant) ads,” so we hope that the importance of ads doesn’t detract from the user experience.
If this is actually true, there is no reason to consider Sonos. Especially at the super premium price of $200-$400. That makes the Apple TV look cheap.

But T-Mobile is still offering the service, so it is not the lifetime of that either.
