Am I missing something? Hasn’t this been known for years now? I think they previously commented on this before.
- Comment on Max Caulfield returns in Life is Strange: Double Exposure 5 months ago:
I’ve only ever played the original so I’m super excited about this. Although I’m also worried with the red flags surrounding this game. The $30 ‘early access’ and the ‘Collectors Edititon’ for $60 that doesn’t even include the game, which is sold separate.

This deeply sad news. When my brother told me I didn’t want to believe it.
- Comment on Lemmy Active Users looking good 8 months ago:
Yeah, 1 million would be about the right size for a better active community. 500k would probably do wonders too.

- Comment on US concerned NASA will be overtaken by China's space program 8 months ago:
The fact that NASA had to rely on Roscosmos in the first place is shameful. It highlights long standing issues facing the space program. I think some of these problems trace back to the cost of the ISS. It’s been hard to convey the importance and investment into the future the station provides.
For China their station provides proof of concept that they can achieve similar results one day both to themselves and the world watching.
- Comment on US concerned NASA will be overtaken by China's space program 8 months ago:
The amount of money spent on Apollo was insane. A reduced budget should have been sufficient. It’s just been weighted down by shit cost-plus contracts and the abomination that is SLS.
The fear of China here is that they are basically single handedly their closest competitor. They’re the only other nation thats managed a Mars Rover landing, building space station, and have their own plans for Moon and Mars with taikonauts( astronaut equivalent) on the ground in the future.
- Comment on Japan to launch world’s first wooden satellite to combat space pollution 8 months ago:
no living creatures to cause it to rot
Soon termites will evolve for space environment. On a serious note this does seem cool. The amount of satellites going to burn like disposable starlink ones will be an issue. This prototype is small, but this would be good for cubesats.
- Comment on Coroner calls on Google and Amazon to act after British woman’s suicide 10 months ago:
Feels like such a reach. I have no love for Amazon but what are they supposed to do here? Ask you at check out “Are you trying to commit suicide with these items?” Typing is most keywords for suicide and Google pops up with suicide prevention info on top screen already. People who want to do something will find a way.
- Comment on SSD prices predicted to skyrocket throughout 2024 — TrendForce market report projects a 50% price hike | Tom's Hardware 10 months ago:
This sucks. For awhile prices were so great for consumers. Finally thought prices would settle low. I’m already seeing a 50% increase in some products. Some cheap team group 128gb SSD could be had for like $12 last year. I tried to look at prices a few days back and it was about $20 and rising.
From article looks like they don’t want to settle at prices before plummet, but at recent peak prices. Shit companies raising cutting output to inflate prices. Car companies are going to be next to follow. They’ve had to cut prices to sell recently. Once that settles …
- Comment on Amazon Prime Video will start showing ads on January 29th unless you pay extra for ad-free 10 months ago:
I’d forgotten they were gonna start doing this. I’ve got Amazon for the shipping there video has always been leaking. I use it maybe twice a year. They’re probably trying to delay a price increase to Amazon and increase revenue.
- Comment on Amazon Fire Tablets and other gear will reportedly switch away from Android 1 year ago:
This seems like a bad plan. While Fire OS has always been an outdated mess of AOSP, it still supports large pool of apps with sideloading. This is also probably expensive to build and they continue losing large amounts with their Alexa stuff. I wish for a third option besides just Android and IOS ,but I’m not holding my breath for this being it.
- Comment on Firefox will have a built-in ‘fake reviews detector’ — Amazon is in trouble 1 year ago:
I’ve been using fakespot for a few months now and it seems hit or miss a lot of times. I’m hoping that Mozilla has been making changes to improve the implementation of how it checks reviews.
