- Comment on COVID: German man vaccinated 217 times had no side effects 3 months ago:
I don’t understand how this is allowed. Why let someone who is already vaccinated get more vaccines pointlessly? Why nobody stepped in and said this is a waste of time and resources?
- Comment on Have video games become expensive now? 4 months ago:
Well there’s also just a lot more games now, and even retro games that have been around are competing (I’m playing RE1 for example, bought it recently cuz I’ve never played it before)
So I don’t think it’s intrinsically due to other life costs being high. When you have games like battlebit and palworld and lots of ftp games just saturating the market it’s hard to justify charging so much. People literally don’t have the lifespan to play all the games that exist and will continue to be created over time.

- Comment on Is social media addictive? ‘Digital detox’ study suggests not 7 months ago:
Sounds like it’s addictive like marijuana or caffeine-Not actually addictive, but habit forming, which can be unhealthy. But when you take it away the person doesn’t really think about it too much. at least not throughout the day as a “back-of-mind” distraction as folks with an actual addiction would have.

I think they’re referring to staying conscious and meditating towards sleep to keep lucidity during the transition. It’s a technique.

- Comment on The unemployment cycle 8 months ago:
What do the kids do in the meantime? I understand it’s a lot to throw a “kid” into university, but it’s often done so they can get a career and start contributing to retirement and building wealth.
I mean it’s also impractical to have a family without some career so that gets put on hold too. Or worse they have kids and have to go to school at the same time.
I’m not saying everyone should go to college, but just defending the reasoning for those that do why they go as young as they do.

- Comment on Metaverse: What happened to Mark Zuckerberg's next big thing? 8 months ago:
Imo, the idea of it doesn’t match the reality, which is a very virtual one. Intrinsically, it’s a lot to bet on when real life offers more.
VR today also forces the first person perspective. For some that can cause nausea, and for others they get fatigued quickly.
I think there’s potential but from what I’ve seen a lot of hokey options mixed with a limited market in a limited supply due to price just won’t foster anything organic.

Fr. Just do the homework in school, proctored, if it matters so much to the teacher.
Ultimately the kids will get a test, and it should include an essay section, which they obviously have to write on the spot. I don’t really think it matters how much homework they did or didn’t do or what tools they used to “cheat”, as long as they can perform come test day that’s what matters.
- Comment on Pick a side Javascript 10 months ago:
Browser compatibility. Design flaws can’t easily be fixed like how other languages can just switch to a new major version and introduce breaking changes. ES must keep backwards compatibility so has had to do more additive changes than replacing behavior altogether so that older web pages pages don’t break.
- Comment on What was the game you were the most patient for? 11 months ago:
I waited a while for sekiro. Finally broke down and got it on sale after it had been on my wishlist for 2 years.
I found it too challenging, even as a fan of their other games, it just didn’t click. Finally I hit a wall on some enemy who I couldn’t kill and gave up. Sad cuz I really wanted to like it.
