- Comment on How do you deal with it when you download library source code from github and need to change all the header includes to actually be correct? 1 month ago:
I really love the

of Alpine’s apk system. - Comment on Can i safely turn the power on on this open outlet? if not, how do i solve this? 2 months ago:
From my POV, I would say you are good. The dangerous blue and black wire are covered and yellow-green being exposed is not an issue. If you only have responsible persons in the house, you can turn it on without issues. You could also tape card board over it if you want to.
But keep in mind I’m not an electrician and give only my layman’s POV.
- Comment on Do I need to store this in the fridge when opened? 2 months ago:
It usually says this on the label, at least in my country it has a phrase like “Store refrigerated after opening and consume within a few days”.
If it has no instructions or you are unsure, I’d default to yes, put them in the fridge after opening.
- Comment on is iceraven a good fork of firefox? 2 months ago:
Out of curiosity, what turned you away from Firefox?
- Comment on Why is DNS often joked about in the I.T. Industry? 3 months ago:
Might be related to long TTL on DNS entries making it hard to connect one failure to a thing you changed days ago.
- Comment on How might Lemmy appear on an analytics page? 3 months ago:
Depends. Could be links on Lemmy have the

attribute set. (Can’t check, im online from mobile) - Comment on If malls continue to shut down and decay over the next twenty years, someone should turn them into retirement communities for GenX and Millennials. 3 months ago:
Cool idea but lack of natural light could be an issue.
- Comment on Work from home 4 months ago:
That goes into the work profile of my android phone and that profile of switched off after clocking out. Simple as that, I don’t have to carry two phones and get my peace after hours.

You wouldn’t enjoy regular sand either. It’s coarse and rough and gets everywhere.

It’s a bit dated already, but still going strong for my workload: theT530
- Comment on What 11in laptop do you suggest? 7 months ago:
In general, I try to stick to ThinkPads. They come with a bit of a price, but well worth in my experience.
- Comment on What's inside the London Tower Bridge? 7 months ago:
Thanks to Spider-Man: Far from home, I knew of the glass floor decks :D
(And it was just plausible enough to be not ruled out as “the glass is just in the movie so it can shatter”)

- Comment on Give me Options or give me death 8 months ago:
I for my part prefer it that way. Makes sure the code stays clean and nobody can just silence the warnings and be done with it. Because why would you accept useless variables that clutter the code in production builds? Imagine coming back after some time and try to understand the code again. At least you have the guarantee the variable is used somehow and not just “hmm, what does this do? … ah, it’s unused”
- Comment on Do you ever copy somebody else's post from one forum and post it on a different forum as your own? 8 months ago:
Weak copy pasta, would not copy again, 3/10, maybe 4/10 with rice.
- Comment on If I put a gallon of 10% cider vinegar in a shallow pan and let 1/2 gallon evaporate, will that make it double its strength? 8 months ago:
Citric acid is also a pretty solid choice to remove lime deposits. It comes in a small bag and has a texture like really coarse salt. I prefer it over vinegar since it has basically no after taste. Not that would matter in your case.
- Comment on How do you tell the difference between dream and reality? 9 months ago:
Yeah, my brain pulled a fuck you on me. I tried to read something in a dream (as technique to attempt lucid dreaming). My brain constructed the dream to have that text written in non-Latin alphabet.
- Comment on Give me Options or give me death 9 months ago:
Unused variable is an error which fails to compile.
- Comment on If one day our Fingerprint ends up Getting Stollen, Is There a Way we can Change it? 9 months ago:
a match is never 100%
But but but, the CSI series catches murders with 100% matches! (Ok, they also hack in VBA)
- Comment on Is it immoral, unethical, or illegal to use movie prop money for collection plates, tip jars, beggars, and strip clubs? 9 months ago:
You’re just returning their property ^^
- Comment on What’s a “sovereign citizen “? 9 months ago:
But then the country you are in needs to recognize the country you’re a diplomat of and want those diplomats in their country. Diplomatic status is not a “I can go where I please” status. But it’s that way to sovereign citizens, I guess.
- Comment on What’s a “sovereign citizen “? 9 months ago:
But if they are not citizen of any nation, wouldn’t that make them illegal immigrants in any country?

And yes, word is the word.
It seems like you are one of the twelve Americans who is unaware that the bird is the word.
- Comment on Someone has started answering to the github stalebot with memes 11 months ago:
The stalebot is most times useless. The only scenario where I can see use of it is a maintainer waiting for the reporter to add information. But closing issues because no maintainer checked on them? That’s garbage and discourages bug reports.

- Comment on How we can protect your ads from ad bots please suggest me better solution 1 year ago:
I guess that’s the life of an ad owner. Just like the dude handing out free samples in the mall. Most of the people don’t buy the sampled product and effectively waste the dude’s money (out his employer’s money).
I use an adblocker, so you’re safe from me clicking your links :P
