I feel it should be public and connected to an account, but this account shouldn’t be connected to a person unless they explicitly wish so.
- Comment on Hexbear federation megathread 1 year ago:
After my initial impression as a guest and a rare poster (previous account, before lemmy.world got DDOSed, you can see in my post history - I even lost this acc for I’m a dumbass with sausage fingers), I was surprised seeing 80% of this thread on another instance filled with you folks, you alone.
Then I posted a bait comment that doesn’t make sense, a pathetic non-joke maybe a 3rd grader would make to see how you’d react, and it caused instant whirlwhind with different users jumping on me, lol. Only one wondered what I even mean. That was intense, and I didn’t even try. Gosh, it felt so like an old reddit.
You are too much for other instances. Whatever you federated with becomes hexbear. I retract my supportive comment after seeing this thread now and your reaction, but I’d keep everything undeleted and unedited for people to check and see if I had any racist tendencies previously. I may have them due to my background, so maybe someone’d point them out and make me a service.
- Comment on Hexbear federation megathread 1 year ago:
Context: I’m not on your instance.
I’ve read many posts from hexbear but in many cases, like 4\5, I don’t vibe with them like I haven’t vibed with r/chapo before. So I didn’t participate much on their own communities. I was more likely to upvote their jokes and ideas on other instancies where they behave more comprehensible for an outsider. When they don’t go deep into their level of satire, they are readable and funny.
I feel like letting them being the owners of their den and then participating in other communities on the rights of guests is right.
But it’s more about their community and their users. And for yours – make what you and your users feel right. The pleasure of federation is that you don’t have to care. Jumping between instances of a growing fediverse to make your comfy seat is half of it’s fun. Listen to what’s your heart’s saying and do that. It’s not as critical as some people make you think.

Honey, I’m waiting you tonight.
Sorry, I’m busy.
I made something special…
No, I can’t.
Please, just say you cheat on me. I beg.
Sorry, sug. It’s just work. Again.
What a moodbreaker. Fifth time in a row. Fuck your boss.
Actually, he promoted me and said you can move with me there.
Where?
Our quarters within the facility. We can have our time on my breaks. They can even hire you too! They’ve even built a kindergarten there, so we are full served as a young family.
Divorce. Now.

Do you really want to lose your time reading a blob of data with no coherency?
We are both on the internet, lol. And I mean it. LLMs are slightly worse than the CEO-optimized clickbaity word salad you get in most articles. Before you’ve found out how\where to search for direct and correct answers, it would be just the same or maybe worse. <– I found this skill a bit fascinating, that we learn to read patterns and red flags without even opening a page. I doubt it’s possible to make a reliable model with that bullshit detector.
- Comment on Is there a game that you've been very patient for, which turned out to be dissappointing when you finally started playing it? 1 year ago:
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010?). Cars felt right due to Criterion working on them to make them like in Burnout, but their Autolog service, plentiful cutscenes, menu, performance issues and a lot of boring lonely sprints on time killed it for me. I loved to drive in free mode, but avoided races like fire.
GTA IV, but it was on me, maybe. They totally shifted the tone of the game, changed so much I felt like I play a different series. While I came to like it more, the first time it just didn’t work for me.
TellTale’s The Walking Dead after S1. It’s either them losing their juice or me and my friends starting to understand the formula and how low stakes it actually is.

I’ve seen it like Michael pushing diversity training sessions onto the office (US) in the first season. Complete misunderstanding and absurd enthusiasm. I bet he would spend a night educating himself about gender and sexuality on the first resources found in google.
Listen, Dwight. Why would you put a sign saying MALE over your desk?
I insist on keeping it. We, Schruttes, are born Schruttes first, and everything else is out of our concern.
But why? Even Jim picked his new gender. Thrice this lunch, actually. Why don’t you play into it to make our space more friendly for gendered people? Just for a day.
But…
You’ve heard me. Go take a break, and return with a new gender of your choice!
Next scene: a table sign saying GENDER-CONFORMING AMAB DWIGHT KURT SCHRUTE

With the recently posted awkward ‘concept’ of a second Steam Deck and an influx of cool Deck-modding posts, what do you think it needs to look like in the next generation? What peripherals or whatever it needs to have?
And would it be better if Valve also licensed other companies to make more Proton-based handhelds using their R&D findings?
- Comment on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 already has a release date 1 year ago:
Yes, it was. There were remasters of old MW 1 and 2 recently. So I don’t know if it’s another remaster or a new game. They’ve got a very confusing naming lately

The design of this preview is more Wolfenstein or Unreal 3 than MW digital greenish style.

Someone downvoted you for the first paragraph, I guess.
I don’t think Sync impacted the reach of Lemmy just yet (it rolled out how many days before?) but it would, maybe. Especially for those who used it before.
I spat acid not because I’m pissed at people who use it or devs especially, but for not seeing any critique. It seems like an important turning point for Lemmy as a community. And no one bat an eye. I acted as a counterbalance. A mad one, and picked some low-stakes fights. It was funny.
Have a nice day, dude\ss.

Why would you need to pay $20 to access free content? Devs don’t pay any creator who makes you scroll Lemmy. They are useless and sell you air.
- Comment on As an OG Reddit Sync user of over 10 years, all this arguing really brings a tear to my eye. 🥲 1 year ago:
Unless it should? And we shall bully them? They should feel unneeded there?
They put ads and ask for cash while showing other people’s free resources they put their mind to create? While no other client do so? And plenty of people\bots enable them? And call that a pointless argument on fediverse? Lmao.
Their spines should be broken asap, and everything around Lemmy should stay free or donation-based. If it is not, next you see are paywalled apps and instances. No one would benefit from a trend of purchaseable clients but these devs, while they don’t bring content, or anything to the table. Their app is useless without others’ work, and yet they charge you 20-100 bucks for being a middleman between you and it. It’s senseless.
Fuck sync devs. Fuck sync shills. Fuck them all.

It’s more control over what your blog is and it’s important for businesses and agencies. Having .gov instances would make the grow and adoption spiral.
- Comment on How would someone with a terrible singing voice go about learning to sing? 1 year ago:
Singing with someone makes you learn how to adjust your voice to the tune on amateur level. Try camping or any other context you can sing with somebody. Also listen to different kinds of vocal and try to imitate them.

- Comment on UK Version of "Online Harms Bill" wants to prefilter content without due process 1 year ago:
They’d block whole domains and IPs (or put a wrong regexp mask banning random resources as well) because they aren’t competent and ISPs are compliant. Find more ways to access content, use more small websites like fediverse and keep an ear to the question if their black boxes are also reading into your stuff, hence their bill for backdoors in cryptography.
