I don’t see how any of superman’s powers would improve his ability to make spicy food, so no.

Same shit, different platform.
- Comment on Why is alcohol measured in percentages? 10 months ago:
I feel like it would be useful to know exactly how much alcohol is in a can or a bottle
They always list the total volume of the liquid so you can easily get the absolute alcohol content with the percentage.

For contrast so the text remains readable.
- Comment on Why didn't SBF flee? 10 months ago:
He was an MIT grad in physics and minor in math, his girlfriend was a mathmatician too. Clearly he must be intelligent.
Yes, depending on how hard he worked, properly a bit above average. But really it doesn’t say much.
I would assume that he would be smart enough to funnel money out to secret untraceable accounts
Why? As you said he graduated in physics and maths. That seems more like something a lawyers or economists would know about.
But I agree. He should have been smart enough to at least hire someone to help him with that.
- Comment on Why didn't SBF flee? 10 months ago:
No, everyone had been telling him he was the smartest guy in the room. He clearly wasn’t.
- Comment on When characters in a cartoon start speaking a different language do they get someone else to do the line or does the voice actor learn the line on their own? 10 months ago:
I don’t remember ever seeing them switch out the voice actors.
They just learn the bits in the other language. It’s not like it has to be good. Most of the time they totally butcher it, but who cares?

It doesn’t seem to work as intended at this time. But back on reddit this was “gold” feature. And I actually liked it. Hopefully it will be fixed.

First your instances has to upgrade to lemmy 0.19.
Lemmy.world is still on 0.18.5

- Comment on Twitch allowing more nudity after disproportionately banning female streamers | Twitch confirmed its policy banning nudity was sexist. 10 months ago:
I very much agree with you, but I’m not sure the concept easily translates to online media.
I’ve gone to nudist waterparks since I was 14, and my mother sometimes took me to the sauna at an even younger age, so basically grew up with non-sexualised nudity. But it took some social feedback to learn it, like learning the difference between looking and staring.
That last aspect is lost when it comes to streaming or videos. There is nothing preventing you from sexualising any nudity on screen.

Because you’ve probably already touched most things with your hands.
- Comment on Twitch allowing more nudity after disproportionately banning female streamers | Twitch confirmed its policy banning nudity was sexist. 10 months ago:
I’m all for allowing nudity in general, but it would be nice if you could actually block it or at least remove it from your recommendations.
One time I accidently clicked on one of these bathtub streamers and since then there always is one in my recommendation, with no way to remove it. I literally had to install a browser extention “Unwanted Twitch” to finally get rid of it.

My mistake. But they made an identical reference to your comment in the “post covid” special I think.
- Comment on [deleted] 11 months ago:
if you think I’m that clever
Oh no, I didn’t. I though you might have watched the relevant special and made a reference.
And you should definitly watch South Park. Matt and Trey are geniuses. Trey was oscar niminated for “blame Canada”. They took LSD while wearing dresses when going to the oscar event. They are absolute legends. I’m really not into celebrities, but these guys are just amazing and there is a reason South Park has been on for 26 years.

Southpark?

You’re not making any sense and still look like a conspiracy nut. The system must be rigged or something.
- Comment on What are the best features of Lemmy that aren't available in Reddit? 11 months ago:
Copied from another comment in this thread:
github.com/mendel5/alternative-front-ends
github.com/…/shininggowl-reddit-clone-frontend
github.com/junipf/reddit-frontend
github.com/libreddit/libreddit
github.com/Hoda233/SW-Frontend-Reddit
And that was just going through top google results. Not all of them might still work, some of them now only work properly if you self-host with your own API key. I also found some apps on my phone that had recent reviews that said they still worked.
As I said, I’m not using reddit anymore I don’t really want to get into it that much. But it’s obvious they are still around (and of course … some people still love reddit and know how to code …).
If you genuinly want to find the best still working 3rd party reddit client, I’m not in a position to tell you which one it is. My entire point is that there is some “best 3rd party client” by what ever metric you choose. Even if it’s shitty compared to lemmy.

- Comment on What are the best features of Lemmy that aren't available in Reddit? 11 months ago:
I’m personally not using any reddit related apps anymore and only vaguely followed the whole API debacle. It’s becoming shitty which is the reason I quit it.
But saying 3rd party apps or frontend don’t exist for reddit is ridiculous. They do, it doesn’t matter if they suck. I was just pointing out an error, not trying to argue for or against lemmy/reddit. But apperently some people really took offence with that.
