- Comment on Pokemon GO Adds Brand New Community Feature, But Not Everyone Is Happy 9 hours ago:
These Community Camps are special spots that have extra PokeStops and Gyms. But what’s the catch? Well, they are designed to bring local players together.
The feature is part of the Community Ambassador Program, which means there will only be certain players who can create these Campsites. You must apply and eventually get accepted as an Ambassador. There are perks for those who are accepted, you get stuff like free items and support from the game’s team. However, some of the players are saying that it’s hard to get approved, and they are still on the waiting list.
Some trainers seem to be happy with it, they think it would help in making the game more social. While some aren’t really excited for it, they think the developers are trying to “force them to be extroverts.”

Well yeah - now it’s got a case and a screen protector - so I can be as reckless as I want to with it.
Until so learn my next lesson - whatever that might be.

I mean - it kind of is? I believe a company is allowed to ask another company if they’re eligible for rehire - and they record those things in their HR systems.
- Comment on Are some people too stupid to feel depressed? 1 day ago:
Sure. Just don’t be one of those people that tells others they wish they weren’t cursed for being so smart and “you don’t want to be in this mind”.

Someone update me when they figure out where the Cyanide And Happiness posts go. (I might be subscribed to others on lemm.ee - but that one stood out.)

Thanks – It’s on the wishlist. I don’t really play for Seasonal content or anything so I can be patient until a heavy discount.
- Comment on Zynga shuts down Torchlight 3 developer four years after its acquisition 2 days ago:
Been a while since I played 2.
I recently played 1 and was surprised how well it played on the Steam Deck. Felt very native and is small enough on disk to leave it in for any dungeon slashing needs.
- Comment on Zynga shuts down Torchlight 3 developer four years after its acquisition 2 days ago:
Had recently picked up Torchlight 3 and been plinking through it on my Steam Deck.
It’s not great - but fits the mindless AARPG genre fine. I’m sure it doesn’t have the depth/mechanics to keep the Exile and Diablo fans happy.
- Comment on Does anyone use a phone without a protective case? 2 days ago:
I was initially in the minimalist camp of just getting coverage for it and going naked.
Then someone stepped on it and I had to go through the whole ordeal of scheduling and getting it fixed.
After that I started applying screen protectors and using a case.

A flu was how I saw the original Star Wars trilogy – I think I also timed a flu with a James Bond marathon.
Wonder if they still have those kind of marathons for sick kids to trip across - been eons since I’ve watched cable.

Lots of Alien theme with the newly created OP account.

Uhhh – the politicians politicized money to companies to make tubes that we never got. Not sure if elaborating on details of tubes is going to help clear things up.

Let’s say you’re a Cartel member, you need a transplant for you or someone you love, and you’ve acquired an amount of money that solves this through already illegal means.

Transplants. Supply/demand.
- Comment on World's first full-size humanoid robot fighting championship to debut in Shenzhen 1 week ago:
Eh - a missile isn’t really a robot army. Drones in a computerized swarm - you start getting closer.
I don’t foresee a CEO having drones with ziptied anti-tank mines on their payroll.

We’re totally not going to be crowdfunding the R&D of privatized robot armies – right?

I didn’t click the link but I’m envisioning the old school studios (if they’re still around) just using the AI to drive physical drawings.

- Comment on Square Enix considered ending Final Fantasy 11 in 2024, but player interest was high enough to keep it alive even after 20+ years 2 weeks ago:
It runs pretty well and everything and I think will scratch the itch.
It’s just a very jarring throwback to the times.
The game was more built around being ran with a controller, so mouse and keyboard is a little janky - I pretty much solely use a keyboard.
Map/travel is very old school. Alt tabbing for maps/routes, boats, etc.
Making a player level to 20, and then immediately starting over to level again for a sub job is an incredibly sadistic thing to ask from an MMO.
I could go on. But it regularly sees 2k+ players online so there must be some subset of people that enjoy it.

I can’t in good conscience recommend this to an internet stranger - because the experience is quite brutal.
