- Comment on McDonald’s Gives Up On ‘AI’ After Comedy Of Errors, Including Putting Bacon On Ice Cream 4 months ago:
The thing most companies are missing is to design the AI experience. I’m a designer focusing on AI, but a lot of companies haven’t even realized they need a designer for this. It’s like we’re the conscience of tech, and listened to about as often.

Only for people with an inability to comprehend semantics.

That doesn’t mean they should be conflated.
- Comment on Why do arranged marriages persist in many cultures? 6 months ago:
You do know that arranged marriage and forced marriage are different things, right?
- Comment on Why do arranged marriages persist in many cultures? 6 months ago:
I don’t know. There’s an even chance my parents would have been better at picking my husband than I was.
- Comment on I think it's extremely invasive that amazon is telling me this 6 months ago:
Yes, I’m not responding to the post, but other comments that are saying the drop-off photo is too invasive and for safety.
- Comment on I think it's extremely invasive that amazon is telling me this 6 months ago:
I think it’s sweet that everyone here thinks it’s a safety measure and not just proof that the package was delivered so they don’t have to refund it if porch pirates steal it.
- Comment on Mean world syndrome has reacted a fever pitch. 6 months ago:
The only people I’ve seen saying “all men” is men who are butthurt that women calculate the risk of being in the woods with a bear as less risky. None of the women who are choosing the bear say that.
- Comment on Mean world syndrome has reacted a fever pitch. 6 months ago:
Yeah, that’s kind of the point. Bears tend to avoid women rather than hunt them down.
- Comment on Mean world syndrome has reacted a fever pitch. 6 months ago:
The fact that treating someone as a person hinges on what you get out if it is a huge problem.
- Comment on Mean world syndrome has reacted a fever pitch. 6 months ago:
The fact that men are debating this is disgusting, so yeah.
- Comment on If a universal basic income started today with the stipulation that you had to put 40 hrs/wk towards making the world a better place or solving societal problems, how would you spend your time? 6 months ago:
If I could wave a magic wand, training therapy horses. Or doing what I already do, but in a place that actually wants me to do it.

Culver’s, Habit, Smashburger, Five Guys. I don’t eat out much, but even I can easily name several off the top of my head.

Show me you’ve never been to a Culver’s.

How is it not typical? I was deeply underwhelmed the one time I went there.

Computers have been beating humans at basic tasks since the beginning. Isn’t that kind of the point?
- Comment on Why do Americans measure everything in cups? 7 months ago:
As someone who once subbed cayenne 1:1 for black pepper in spaghetti sauce, and who has learned to make my own breadcrumbs from failed sourdough, I promise it’s a learned skill. It just takes letting yourself fail a lot and not taking yourself too seriously.
- Comment on Why do Americans measure everything in cups? 7 months ago:
My advice to anyone is start with pancakes. Make a few different recipes and pay attention to the differences. Then make them without a recipe. Switch up ingredients, sub in whatever you feel like, play with ratios. Once you have a handle on that, move to sourdough, cookies, or piecrust. Then do muffins. Leave cakes for last, because they are the most finicky. You’ll be baking with confidence and without a recipe in no time.

Because you can’t pack a scale and weights on a cart as easily as you can a set of cups?

I do this, and my brother who is an amateur chef, thinks it’s witchcraft. Baking is not hard to eyeball, people.

I’m in less than half your size and am two floors away from my washer. Not everyone has a nicely designed home.
That said, I generally buy the simplest appliances I can.

Because do no harm is a basic tenet of right vs. wrong.
- Comment on What are the advantages of victimhood? What are the disadvantages of victimhood? 8 months ago:
There is no advantage to being a victim that can even scratch the surface of the disadvantage of being a victim.
Only people who have never really been a victim can imagine there’s anything remotely resembling an advantage.

No. No one is actually harmed.
- Comment on How does employing a rapist not constitute an unsafe work environment for female employees? 9 months ago:
The short and unsatisfactory answer to your question is that this isn’t a hostile work environment. A hostile work environment is narrowly defined. You telling everyone about his rape of your friend is closer to the definition than him being a rapist.
An unsafe work environment applies only to physical hazard, so the same goes there. You’d have to demonstrate and prove that he is causing you current harm. Basically, unless he sexually harasses you or attempts to rape you, and you can prove it, there is no leg for you to stand on.
