Nah, sacrifice in regards to your children is absolutely a mindset thing. You can cognitively restructure your thinking in this case.
If you look at your children and think “wow, I’m not getting anything out of this” I can promise you that your children feel this and will become very distant to you when they grow older. They know when you just think they’re a burden.

I think you’re conflating the concept of an opportunity cost with a sacrifice. There is a lot of joy in parenting, and not getting to hang out with friends because you have to take care of your child isn’t a sacrifice, it’s the cost of having a child. Not every single thing you give up is a sacrifice.

Split Fiction is great but I think It Takes Two was just a better game all around. Split Fiction was faster paced which was nice, but the little exploration areas in It Takes Two were just wonderful. Lots of little surprises and fun details to find that made it a joy to slow down and just explore and experience some nice environments. Split Fiction was really missing that and while it’s still great, I wish they’d done a bit of that too.
- Comment on Do people really think setting up domestic manufacturing in the USA is easy? 4 months ago:
The other problem is that the $55 American made one will mysteriously become $94 because doing anything else would be leaving money on the table and therefore unconscionable to American business owners.
Tariffs have a nasty habit of making local goods increase in price accordingly too.

Hey quick question, how does one spread their populist message?
Might it, perchance, be via a system that allows some kind of speech that might be free?
- Comment on CBS Host Says Hitler 'Weaponized Free Speech' To Commit Holocaust, Gets Shut Down By Rubio 6 months ago:
Rubio’s answer is (intentionally) conflating Hitlers rise to power with his authoritarian regime that occurred after. Hitler absolutely abused the Weimar era Germany’s tolerance of his speech to take power and then destroy both others free speech and commit a genocide. Rubio is entirely wrong with his statement but he knows other idiots will believe it and here we see an entire article that dances around the obvious gaping logic to insist that saying you want to genocide people doesn’t lead to genocide.

I know nothing you’re asking is in good faith but…
There’s a difference between your doctor being a little blunt about how you have cancer and aren’t going to live much longer and your doctor telling you that immigrants caused your cancer and his perfect tariffs are gonna cause healing like you’ve never seen and everyone will come up to him with tears in their eyes and tell him “sir, no one thought you could cure cancer with tariffs but you did it.”
Trump is the second one, in case you couldn’t tell.
