It’s even better for them to have extra workers for too few jobs as it drives the wage of those remaining down. Dark stuff really.

- Comment on Elon Musk, doing Elon Musk things. 2 weeks ago:
He’s openly discussed great replacement theory. Questioned a black pilot’s ability to fly a plane. It’s not hard to join the dots.
- Comment on Elon Musk, doing Elon Musk things. 2 weeks ago:
Your glossing over that he paid $250m into Trump’s election and actively campaigned for him, set up a lottery to get people to vote for Trump. He was then an active part of the Trump government for months. He ran DOGE running a wrecking ball through multiple government departments and likely loosing/stealing private US citizens data. He helped end USAID which will lead to thousands of children dying. But sure he’s nothing to be concerned about.
- Comment on Elon Musk, doing Elon Musk things. 2 weeks ago:
There are too many examples of him pushing replacement theory, getting involved with far right parties in other countries to laugh this off as a bit of fun. He’s a fascist.

Once Boston Dynamic style dogs and Androids can operate over a number of days independently, I’d say all bets are off that we would be kept around as pets.
I’m fairly certain your Musks and Altmans would be content with a much smaller human population existing to only maintain their little bubble and damn everything else.

This is the most amazing thing. He’s actually happy to accept an award that is a complete farce and makes him look lame AF. He brain must be total mush.

I mean it gets there in the end but it’s often three of four prompts before it provides working code for a relatively simple powershell script. Can’t imagine that it scales to complex code that well at the moment, but then again I’m not a coder.

- Comment on The Authoritarian Stack 1 month ago:
I guess the crows are coming home to roost in that the owners of these companies are prepared to use them as leverage (starlink) and also are more comfortable airing some pretty wild views of how they think the world should work (Thiel with his Antichrist obsession, Ellison with his ideas for a surveillance state, The general tech bro Curtis Yarvin worship).
Start joining the dots and it starts becoming hard not to be concerned where this is headed.

Seeing a big uptake in use in the education sector. Teachers paying for their own ChatGPT pro license to lesson plan etc.
Can’t comment at this point if that’s right or wrong, you hope the teachers using it would identify hallucinations etc. But you can see there is already a change occurring.
