It takes some getting used to. And maybe looping games isn’t everyone’s cup of tea(e.g. Majora’s mask).
But the exploration, the knowlesge based progression, the cleverness of the story, and its delivery is absolutely brilliant.
- Comment on Las Vegas' dystopia-sphere, powered by 150 Nvidia GPUs and drawing up to 28,000,000 watts, is both a testament to the hubris of humanity and an admittedly impressive technical feat | PC Gamer 4 months ago:
Vegas exists because of the BS.

A few times as a kid I had to take a taxi alone. I knew the way home, but the driver decided to make a lot of unnecessary turns and go this round about way to run up the fair. I was probably in 3rd grade and knew what he was doing but didn’t have the guts to call him out.

Am I thinking of that game with the awesome scope mechanics? That game has PVE modes?

Don’t disagree but surely it’s not impossible to add some regulations to protect the consumers here.

That was my issue with old school SymForums. I don’t see that so much on reddit.

I’m guessing not all hypotheses receive the same interest or funding to begin with. Definitely seems to be a selection bias on what actually gets funded/studied. Even worse, when they withhold results they don’t like from being published.

Weight should absolutely be a factor in registration fees. Between road damage, their environmental cost, and danger they pose it’s a no brainer.
- Comment on Activision/Blizzard QA workers form the largest US video game union yet 8 months ago:
QA could use some unionizing across the software/game industry imo.
It’s amazing how buggy websites of billion dollar companies are. They either don’t have a QA team or don’t prioritize any of the bugs they file. If I were still in that field I’d probably team up with some litigious ADA lawyers.

Odds are you aren’t going to be reincarnated as a white person though. Seems like they would cut the shit out the first time they are reincarnated as something different.

My last pixel died on a river float when water got into the storage area where my phone was. I don’t know how the water got inside the phones internals but I suspect the charging port could have been the weak point.
- Comment on The EU common charger : USB-C 10 months ago:
In terms of water proofing, how well does the usb-C port hold up? Water damage is one of the main causes of death for mobile phones. I wanted to see better water proofing overall and wonder if this would be a setback in that regard.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m very thrilled to have USB c as the standard.

Bar argument. Our birth rate isn’t high enough to create this demand.

That’s not the message either. There are homeless shelters, mental and health services, and affordable housing being priotized all over.
Necessities are in large free to those who need them. Nice to haves and luxury beds are not.

Regarding the data, I don’t recall where I first read that. But here’s what I found from google. Obviously the new numbers will vary greatly by location.
- Comment on Drivers Tend To Kill Pedestrians At Night. Thermal Imaging May Help. 11 months ago:
A high percentage of the people who are hit at night are on drunk, drugs, or mentally ill. Not exactly the type to heed this advice. Maybe homeless services could pass out reflective clothes.
- Comment on Tax time 11 months ago:
People are afraid of trying and making mistakes because the consequences may be severe. When you get into stocks, crypto, homeownership, etc, the forma start piling up. I had a company mess up our taxes one year and correcting it, with a tax professional, took hours.

- Comment on Consumers are paying more than ever for streaming TV each month and analysts say there’s no reason for the companies to stop raising prices 1 year ago:
I’m paying for the services that produce the best content, not simply platforms that host content from others. It would be nice if they shared it to other streaming services, but then they would have little reason to create them.
