- Comment on Valve runs its massive PC gaming ecosystem with only about 350 employees 3 months ago:
Letting your employees work on what they like doesn’t seem like the worst thing. It might hurt game profits but seems much nicer for the workers.
- Comment on Valve runs its massive PC gaming ecosystem with only about 350 employees 3 months ago:
Twitter runs a single web application.
They also do make games.

I’m sorry but they absolutely are.
- Comment on AI is like a hammer 3 months ago:
They are neural networks which are some of the oldest AI tech we have.
You can hate them, but they are by definition AI.

Play with a dual analog control layout like later entries in the series!
- Comment on Young people these days only use the word "slut" in dirty talk, such that calling someone a slut in polite company is now unacceptable. The sluts stole the word for themselves. Great job, sluts! 4 months ago:
I can’t speak for the younger generation but as a millennial it’s used as both for sure.
Greeting a friend with “hey slut” is fine. Saying that to a stranger would likely not be.
- Comment on Nintendo has DMCA’ed Sudachi’s GitHub 4 months ago:
They’d be going after them if they thought they could. I’m sure they’ll find a reason eventually.
- Comment on Nintendo has DMCA’ed Sudachi’s GitHub 4 months ago:
If a new one just pops up going after the previous one was indeed pointless.
- Comment on Young people these days only use the word "slut" in dirty talk, such that calling someone a slut in polite company is now unacceptable. The sluts stole the word for themselves. Great job, sluts! 4 months ago:
Although the ultimate origin of the word slut is unknown, it first appeared in Middle English in 1402 as slutte (AHD), with the meaning of ‘dirty, untidy, or slovenly woman’.
It’s never been polite. Not sure what you mean.

Calling someone a derogatory term has never been acceptable in polite company. It doesn’t really make sense.
- Comment on The theory that we live in a simulation involves simulants running their own simulations; wouldn't that require impossibly more resources for the main sim? 4 months ago:
Particles and waves aren’t actually separate as we were taught in school. They are in reality a third thing with properties of both.
As for detecting properties that’s a limit of our technology not the universe. In order to observe something we currently have to interact with it (e.g. bounce some light off it) It’s possible in the future we develop techniques that don’t require interaction, like reading the higgs boson field directly for example.

It’s a fork of existing software so I seriously doubt it

Looking online Hotmail supports IMAP, pop and SMTP. So you should be able to set it up.

I dontsted my DNA to a research project. I have Crohn’s disease and type 1 diabetes. I’m likely autoimmune prone.
I get updates about what it’s used for. Usually trying to identify causes for autoimmune diseases. It feels good to help out the people fighting disease.

That’s exactly why they created it.
Also as a rape survivor it allowed them to meet people without any real world risks.

Office support also exists for the majority of editors so why not just use what people are used to?
- Comment on Windows 11 adds native support for RAR, 7-Zip, Tar and other archive formats thanks to open-source library 1 year ago:
Why would you use any of them when zip exists?
- Comment on Windows 11 adds native support for RAR, 7-Zip, Tar and other archive formats thanks to open-source library 1 year ago:
The whole point is most people don’t want a third party app.
I also think for most users treating them as a normal folder makes complete sense.
Chances are you aren’t the target audience of the default configuration of windows. It’s aimed at people who have trouble checking their email.

The problem of the massive concentration of pollution in London is being helped massively by this.
You’re talking about a different problem.
- Comment on Ulez expansion: 45% fewer ‘dirty’ vehicles now on London’s roads, says TfL 1 year ago:
Surely that’s the plan? To reduce pollution in London.
- Comment on Ulez expansion: 45% fewer ‘dirty’ vehicles now on London’s roads, says TfL 1 year ago:
It says off London roads. Which they indeed are.
London has an awful pollution problem because of its density.
The idea is to get them away from London which is what’s happening.
- Comment on Complaints about poor NHS dental services rise 66% in five years 1 year ago:
Pre austerity the NHS was absolutely top notch.
As healthcare is a captive market they tend to focus more on cost which can lead to worse outcomes.
Just look at our private prisons and trains.
- Comment on What does going to a mental institution do for you? 1 year ago:
It absolutely can help you with things like friends and work.
There are often underlying reasons that make it hard for you to make and maintain friendships or find a good job. Therapy can definitely get to the root of those issues.
Many people struggle with setting boundaries or saying no. Both of which are very important for both friendships and work.
Me and my therapist did a pre job interview session and we come up with some phrases and answers to use in the interview. It removed a huge amount of the anxiety I normally experience and I smashed the interview.
As for being institutionalised it’s a break from life. It may be to stop you hurting yourself or others. Or simply to remove some pressure from you.
