Why did you have to give away a dog? What made you able to get given a new one?

This meme is so old that I was 27 when I first read it.

I’ll never understand why low res images like this always have half the text cropped off. I get why it’s done when they’re conveniently censoring something, but…ugh. :(

After 33 years and lack of citizenship over a technicality, I think it’s safe to say “GIVE THE MAN A BREAK!” Jeezy Creezy.

Note that some studies show nine mouse days are roughly equivalent to one human year.

So this company is, in fact, evil and holding human lives behind a price tag?
I have to tell you, I’m shocked that the pharmaceutical industry would do that. They just don’t seem like the type.

Not with that attitude!

I came here to say this. A bunch of these vowels are definitely pronounced with a wedge. Even tried intentionally pronuncing the stressed vowels with a schwa, and it’s noticeably, jarringly off.

Is “like” used that way? I didn’t know that. If so, what area are you from? I’m into linguistics and am genuinely curious.

This is a 3rd party upgraded version of the that a lot of folks recommend. They put a lot of effort into balancing out different classes for the reasons mentioned above.

I really tried with hashtags for a while, and I don’t think they work.

Exactly. One uses an algorithm to suggest stuff you like based on other things you like. Say, webcomics. If you like a creator and what they post, you can follow them. Twitter will then suggest users who post similar content so you can follow them too. On Reddit/Lemmy, you’d need to find an appropriate subreddit/community. You can follow people once you stumble across them, but it’s not quite as easy to find them. Reddit will also not suggest posts and content based on your interest but instead will show you what’s highest voted by others or currently trending in general.

Read any of the States’ Declarations of Secession, and you’ll see how the Confederacy betrayed humanity with that racist garbage. I would literally get banned if I copied and pasted what they say.

An article published detailed what it was like working with Elon Musk at Tesla. Apparently, he rarely, if ever, has any idea what’s going on in his own companies.
Basically, the dude just says things. He has no idea how most of his products or software work or anything. He just says things.
- Comment on How do names of countries get translated? What is the reason why Nippon/Nihon is called Japan or Ellada is called Greece in English? 1 year ago:
Yes, it literally means “lowlands”, but that’s it’s actual name used by the people from that country in the primary language of the people from that country.
Holland is just a city in the Netherlands, but people refer to the entire country as “Holland” sometimes.
